Pace is always a bonus no matter where you play, I think if Gorkss was quicker he would be one of the best holding mids in world football.

personally i think that with what we've got (new signings included) we have a very good chance of staying up. we're a good side, great attacking options and even though we have defender issues, we still managed to keep the most clean sheets in the football league.
we're not challenging for Champs League, but think we'll have a good shot at beating 2nd half of table teams.
all will be revealed against Bolton at home though - by which time it could be too late...!

Some people. DJ Campbell is clearly a great signing
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

Seeing as you ask, I would have signed Danny Graham and /or CMS ahead of Bothroyd and DJ (happy we have them though as they are better the HH and Hulse), but the question for me is, is DJ being signed to play wide or up front on the shoulder of the last defender. I only ask as Jamie Cureton scored goals everywhere (apart from his loan spell in Korea? before he came to us) until Holloway played him out wide and what a flop that was.

I am sure he will do well, but out wide is not his best position, but he could be a fox in the box, with the amount of chances we create, but dont finish because no one is there to tap the ball in.

            Stretching the mark somewhat.

He's adequate for our needs at this point in time, given the limited funding provided by the Board.

Bothroyd on a free is far far better business than Danny Graham for 3.5million.

1.25 million for a nippy player i've always wanted and scored 13 Premier League goals. Sounds ideal to me

                  Agreed.

Also, DJ Campbell scored 13 Premier League goals in 31 games for a team that got relegated, so I would have him over CMS aswell. Especially as he is a million quid or so cheaper.

I'd be interested to know how much DJ would have sold for, if there was no clause in his contract.
And if we'd have still bought him.

Hopefully that might change a bit in the coming weeks, but just curious.

Definitely. I think Jay b could become a very good player with a boss like Warnock. He needs a kick up the ass like olly gave dj last term.

We've been conditioned by our owners to be easily pleased.

That was not the question but I think Graham is a much better player than Bothroyd and would have complemented the way we play.

Double the £1.25m we have paid I would say.

Which would of course have ruled us out of signing him.

It's a signing so I think that just excites us in it's self.
