Cast your mind back to the 08/09 season, A Villa 0 QPR 1, league cup. Matt Connolly right back, marked Ashley Young out of the game!

What's all this too weak to be a centre back BS....? The lower leagues are much more physical than the prem and he's done fine in them, besides, you aren't allowed to touch anyone in the prem these days without it being a foul. Its much more important to read the game well and he is excellent in that regard.

You can say all you like about Connolly but he is part of one of the best defences the championship has seen. Connolly has to deal with poor players around him like Orr an Hill, I like Hill a lot but he is only a good Champ Left back at best. Gorkss was at fault a lot more than Connolly and never got dropped no wonder his confidence went.Estamos QPR

He instils no confidence and is lucky to have Kenny behind him to cover for his mistakes.

If That lump Ian Evatt can play in the PL, so can Matt Connolly.Never thought I'd see the day I agreed so strongly with ya Paul!
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Kenny not PL potential? Surely 24 (I believe?) clean sheets last year means he must be in this category? And Dyer, yes been injured a while, but 33 England caps must mean he is PL potential. The word potential, IMO, must mean also that at least 1 defender should be included, what with us only conceeding 32 goals all season and all that? You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
