That is a good question-away from home I would suggest Dex on his own up-front,with Vine and Buzz dropping-off.

At home, possibly Dave, depending on his form/fitness-but we really ought to be signing a new striker.Hope HH can step-up this season, but not convinced.

Blackstock isn't a target man, he is not or should not be considered as the focal part of our attack. Granted he is good in the air attacking crosses, but he shouldnt be deployed as a target man up front as from a standing jump despite his height, he is useless in the air, despite the difference in height id prefer HH as a target man

However we mix up the strike partnerships currently at the club, none of them are good enough to get us promoted.

Did you watch ANY game last season? The reason Dex got coated by many on here was because he was asked to do a role that he is ill suited to do. As others have said, the ball doesn't stick to him well enough to be a lone striker; he needs to be part of a two to be effective.

I still think that we will be playing one up front on a number of occasions as Buzz is most effective in a free role rather than when shackled with defensive responsibilites. That ONE should be HH, who can bring others into the game. Whenever we do two, I'd like to see Dex with HH OR Viney, although the latter showed great form cutting in from left midfield when he first got here...

Still need another striker with good experience in my eyes - maybe Connolly can tick that box, if he can get his fitness right.

Agree, Dex always flicks the ball on for a striker who simply isn't there when he is on his own. We need a forward who holds up the ball to bring the midfield in to play. HH can do that but unfortunately has lost his touch in front of goal and unless he gets it back this season, we need someone else. Someone like Priskin or Stead who can hold the ball up but also score a few as well. Dex needs a partner to get the best out of him, like he had at Forest. He can not play as the lone striker.
              RIP: Doug, Sniffer and Pat

Well for QPR the best striking partner to play alongside Dex would be Adebola, Earnshaw or McGoldrick.

Err so why is he flicking it on then? Fundamental footballing ability would say, hang on, i need to be creative here and do something else as there is no-one there. Apart from falling over.

Neither can Blackstock unless its 6 yards in front of goal. I would not even have Blackstock on the bench

                        Dex can't head the ball?

That has to be the most incorrect statement I have ever seen.

Made me chuckle anyway. Needed that after the afternoon i've had.

totally agree benny boy. dex is very good in the air,and plays target man well. i think viney would play off dex very well, both very clever players n little n large on paper should work, think vine has the brains, pace and positional sense to play off dexter, sadly last year we had no1 like that with vine injured, cue all dexter slagging

I suppose we are yet to see Blackstock in a team playing quick passing to feet football, whether he can play it and has the quickness of thought to play it well is unknown.
