Could he fill in at left back? He did at least one stint in a game at right back ,I think. I am not sure whether he could get his foot in sufficiently or being small would be vulnerable to the long diagonal cross at the far post from the left. He is, though. mobile ,could bomb forward and link up- don't know.

He is a striker, and as yet unproven in the prem in his best position, let alone risking him as a left back.....

If we are going to stay up we need to be realistic, methodical and do a job proffessionally, which means round pegs in round holes and so on. We also need to expect to grind out results with less than attractive football at times... whatever it takes to survive.

You then seriously think about building in the years to come, much like Stoke have, spending more each summer.

I did use the term 'fill in' i.e as an auxiliary. I do ,of course, want a proper left back. Ashley Cole started a winger as did Terry Cooper- best left back of his generation.
