  • The New Strip(s)

    Well the club were supposed to submit the new strips to the Premier League 9 days ago.

    Do you think we actually have new strips or are last seasons stripes to be recycled with F1 one or whatever on the front???

    Even my lads team (village football) has to let the FA know what its going to be including any sponsors

        Don't they have to film all the playrs for Sky in the new kit for live game line ups etc? Don't think Sky would leave things like that til last knockings.

              This thread had my hopes up for a minute that we had a new kit, but then I remembered how silly of me to think we would have our kit ready so soon, we've got ages until the season starts.

                      I just looked up the rules on Premier League kits, some really interesting rules in there believe it or not. But to answer your question, the board of the FA can refuse our sponsorship if we submit it too late. If you're interested the rule in Section F Rule 16 states:

                      " Not later than 4 weeks before the commencement of each Season each Club shall register its Strips by submitting to the Secretary Form 9 together with samples of its home Strip, away Strip and goalkeeper’s Strip complying with these Rules and a brief written description of each and the Secretary having entered the descriptions in a register will cause the same to be printed in the handbook of the League. "

                      Quite interestingly the Board of the FA could possibly refuse to approve our sponsorship if they wish by Rule 28:

                      "Provided that:

                      28.1 the content, design and area of the advertisement is approved by the Board; and
                      28.2 it complies with the Football Association Rules for the time being in force;

                      advertising on Strip shall be permitted."

                      So if we breach the FA rule 16 by failing to submit our kit/sponsor within the time frame they could refuse to permit the sponsor by rule 28.2.

                      Those appear to be the rules but I can't imagine the FA will be so frivolous to stop a sponsorship because i'm sure it's only more money for them. Well that's what one would hope anyway!

                        Isn't that just a rule that they can rely on to ensure that we don't go out with something offensive on our shirts?....I mean if we were sponsored by an offensive organisation.........like the Labour party or something??

                          Haha. Yeah I imagine it really is just a clause to cover their backs to stop anything they don't like the look of getting out. Technically it gives them the power to block any sponsor that breaks the rules in the section but in reality they're not going to be stopping a sponsor because it's a couple weeks late so long as there is money coming in.

                            thanks , at least no fine , wonder what the pl rules are as stated by someone they need to film the teams new kits and all, they must have a deadline.
                            the really bizarre thing about this that even without a sponser they should of had a kit ready by now, if its not being flown in right now they will miss start of season , also strange as this would have been a massive cash boost yet one of the more obvious cash streams yet weve not done anything with it

                              but the club wouldn't put the current shirts at £12 if they were keeping them, i think they do have the shirt design but no sponsor
