  • 4-2-3-1

There continues to be a lot of stuff written about new players etc.

But hasnt NW already set his stall out on the way the team will play (4-2-3-1).

Last year, we always started with either HH or Hulse up front with the 3 players supporting him: Mackie/Routledge, Taarabt, Smith/Buzsaky.

Big Pat was used as a second half substitute for the main striker or as an additional 2 up formation?

There continues to be discussion about a further striker purchase (e.g. DJ), but where would he fit into the system? (Dyer/Webber could be used as squad players while Mackie gets fit?)

A front 4 of Bothroyd, HH, Hulse, Agyemang - do we need more, if we only play 1 up front? Crouch could improve those 4 with one of them going out on loan, but i dont see it as likely.

Need some pace up top. I know pats quick but he hasn't got the end product. Dj cambell we could do with, even though we should be getting better IMO. Bang up for it still. Nobody will steel the jam out of my donut.

I have a feeling NW really likes Dyer and if he is fit, he will play, with Taarabt now on the left, which I think is his best position anyway.

      --- Derry --- Faurlin ---
      Smith - Dyer - Taarabt
      ------- Bothroyd -------

i expect taarabt to start in the middle.. i dont expect prem teams to give adel the respect championship teams do. so having him in the middle will be more beneficial for us.

Warnock is smart enough to adapt the proper style accoring to available players.

Yes would love to see Crouch playing for us but as per spurs fans view of him he does seem to revel on the long ball game and i am worried about us going down that route.

On the aesthetics I would agree but realistically we may not have the luxury of playing pretty all the time. If route 1 is deemed to be the way to beat certain teams I've no doubt Neil will employ it. Survival is paramount.

I can't think of a Striker that suits our system better than Crouch to be honest.

As to Dyer / Taarabt they will switch constantly as we did last year

we'll play 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 which which pull back to 4-5-1, problem is if Bothroyd is injured /suspended, heaven knows who will be CF, and whether he can score, I mean Hulse, Dave, are you kidding?

yah, except that Dyer won't last 30 mins.

I think Dyer is a blinding signing, and this will see the re invention of him back to the heady days of when he was in every England squad. He was quality when on form. Personally think hecould double up at RB aswell.

We do as 3 of the 4 are not good enough for PL and we are hoping that Bothroyd is.
