    From French press:

Leonardo "Not phased" by failure to sign Taraabt. "I found him too impulsive and erratic".

Amazing how accurate first impressions can be.

Leo is clearly a good judge of character, and wasn't seduced by the Gallic arrogance and swagger.

            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
            And many more mistakes

In fairness, it's a good spot. Now, if only he could diagnose Bernie and Flavio...?

Other than Adel can speak French fluently, there is nothing remotely Gallic about Taarabt.

I think he is very French in his mannerisms -- all the gesticulations and highly-strung demeanour -- very, very Cantona-esque and very French.
True North Africans don't have that flamboyance -- they are far more reserved and private and don't do all the gesturing and posturing -- just a bit of animation amongst the ones who haggle in the markets (which is the minority).
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

What Swanley said, owing to the fact that he moved to France when he was 9 months old, so yes he is very Gallic.

lots of sloppy thinking going on
                              Adel is Moroccan
                              He is not Gallic
He speaks French as do lots of people
                              Cantona was not (IMHO) Gallic
Cantona was from Sardinian and Catalan stock
In effect an outsider or L'Etranger (read Albert Camus)
The French were an Imperial force in North Africa
Could well go some way to explaining why Cantona and Taarabt are none too comfortable with the French authorities
The French are a deeply bourgeois race
(They also have hunchbacks, smell iffy, and sell onions on clapped out bikes)

                              Cantona railed against them
Could well be that Adel may go down the same route with playing in France
                              Both are blessed with genius
In Cantona's case it was down to his gypsy blood
In Adel's case i have no doubt it is Arab flair
                              Not Gallic
the only Gallic thing about Adel and Eric is that they have big conks
But so does Alberti and it dont make him Gallic
So put that in your pipe and smoke it
                              Hope that helps

BTW I do know that Adel is not Turkish
I was just taking the hit and miss
