  • Warnock's played the game and won?

There maybe a couple of little digs at Warnock in that statement but it is he who has come out on top here...he has forced the Board into being more transparent and he has forced them to admit they will back in him with funds had we sold Taarabt.

This would not have happened IMO had Warnock not been outspoken and had media contacts at Talk Sport or The Independent. Just when the media were about to gang up on T & C along comes this statement in part of some reasonable intent.

    Warnock 1 T&C 0

I'd say that's probably a pretty astute reading of the situation. Warnock just has to take a public slap on the wrists, but it looks like he may have embarrassed the club into curbing the worst excesses of its misguided 'strategy'.

As much as you make sense, I still think if all was bad, they'd have sacked Neil.

They wouldn't care how we reacted either. ST money already taken.

One (hopeful) good thing in addition to Adel and Neil staying is that after such a bold statement, they surely have to walk the walk and back Neil.

On the other hand Warnock has a group of players who want to play for him, taking Warnock out of the equation spells disaster as much as it would probably **** them off T&C probably appreciate they have a savvy manager in place who is more than capable of dodging their bullets. One might assume the original contract negotiations he had with the Mittals has given Neil more power than what Tango in particular would like.

Another interesting point in that statement is that over 10,000 ST's have been sold.

Very possible, mate, but this was still a chance to rid him.

One thing I like from your post here is Warnock's situation. I agree, he's looking quite untouchable as things stand, and that was my main wish. Sod Adel...Neil is key. Adel is just a big bonus to add to this.

                  Things are looking up.

I think you have it spot on W12, Warnock has been very clever with his public negotiating and it's thankfully worked out.

Also agreed the board must like him as they didn't find some way to sack him for comments, I guess there is some kind of mutual begrudging respect between them all.

But are they going to provide him with funds now that Adel is not being sold? This is conveniently omitted from the statement. The only reference is that they are working hard to secure a couple of targets. Probably loans or free's.

I thought ST sales had been capped at 9000?

I think they will. It's now obvious they are staying, so it's time to invest.

No doubt they'll sell in the near future, but they need to act in this window if we're to stay up.

Agreed W12, Warnock is master of press and chairman manipulation and thats what we have just seen. I believe they had no intention of backing Warnock, signing anymore players and sellig Adel.

But with Warnocks wise old head, he has managed toget the to commit both e.g. Adel not being sold (i believe Fav would have carried on and sold him on the last day, but Warnocks got them to commit alot earlier) and i dont believe we would have signed anymore freebiees as they would not want the wages.

Master stroke by Warnock, uses the press and other forms of media to put the pressure to back him as he all the press and media looking at them now and saying how stupid they are, which will be the one thing they hate.

                            Warnock 1 T&C 0 as you say

Also if they think there statement will shut Warnock up they can forget it, his will always find away to manouvre them to where he wants them. They have not meet anyone as clever at this game as him as he has been doing it for years.
