MIRROR/Paul Smith -QPR owners make secret moves to sell club for £100m
Published 23:00 09/07/11 By Paul Smith

London-based investment bank Seymour Pierce has been secretly recruited to find a buyer for QPR.

The newly promoted *Premier League club is up for sale for £100m because main shareholders Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio *Briatore are anxious to *depart Loftus Road.

    More........http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news...cle763404.html

The rest of the article can be read if Paul puts a link to it.

Follow up Tweets by journalist, Paul Smith ("Smudge1962")- I doubt it as he was the one who approached Ecclestone and Briatore claiming he could achieve that figure
    - It's a totally unrealistic price but unfortunately Keith Harris from Seymour Pierce has convinced them they can get £100m
    - I can assure you the story is 100m percent true - Smudge1962 Tweets....http://qprreport.blogspot.com/2011/0...-club-for.html

Smudge is a good lad that never bs and says it how it is
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I would say a lesson could be learn't by benny and other t/o itk's. Smudge has mentioned about no one interested. He has stated that the owners r pushing 4 a sale at an inflated rate. I don't see anyone coming in to end this nightmare and we shouldn't get fellow fans hopes up with false claims

SP are not the only finance house touting for fresh money to come and take the club off their hands.

It is also the case (as I've said previously) that ALL the shares are up for sale, ie everyones.
This is what I don't understand in terms of the Mittalls and tells me that they've followed the Dispatches model and they are now off, thank you, goodnight and here's a few beers for Bryan Robson on the way. (Not that him or his Fund are involved but you catch my drift?)

I did the maths on another post on how they can realise their £100M either in the short term sell or by a 3 year continual milk by continuing their current policy.

What a lot of these business people dont counter is the power of fans due to the media feeding frenzy on prem football.
Let's hope if they are still around come August and the current status quo persists then people may be sitting slightly uncomfortable in the C-Club seats and worrying about spin off harm to their core businesses.

            FFS it's only July (again!)
I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

He was the guy who seemed to be most reliable with info during the FA case, seemed to be pretty clued up.

I very much doubt it, to be honest I do not think anyone knows what is going on except for FB and BE but for some reason people feel it neccessary to make out that they do.

Despite being a journalist, I find that Smudge doesn't sensationalise without any basis to his point.

Scott, you may have good contacts, but that doesn't mean you can state as dfact that you know more than him about all things QPR. For example his source during the Faurlin 'trial' was at the QC's chambers. I would say that as the chief football writer for the Sunday Mirror, he is likely to have a hugely bigger contact book than you are! Just saying...
