If Spurs are due 30-40% of any transfer fee I really don't see any point at all in selling Taarabt for anything like 8m.

We have to keep our mist gifted player.
The fact we have no money and doubful we will sign anyone, at least with Adel we only need Bothroyd up top on his own, if Adel leave we would need to revert to a 442 unless Buzz can get fit. I don't see Dyer as the answer but if he still has some pace i'd play him, tommy smith and adel as the attacking 3 behind BothroydI played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Its from the the french media and appartently they only offered 6m euros and then came back with 8m euros and we want 10m euros + and for that type of money no deal.
Anyone who thinks losing a player involved in 40 of our goals last season is a good thing is frankly an idiot. Given we are not spending this is the best thing that could have happened. Now get him on the Italy tour and let Warnock get back inside his head

Add to that I don't think many of the players like him for what ever reason and IMO, things will get messy, as I don't think they will accept what they had to last season. Taarabt was superb for us last year and I am sure we would not have been promoted as Champions without him (as well as Kenny, Hill, Derry, Mackie etc), but now is the time for him to move on.
Look it this way, Dyer gets injured and then what? You have to have options for injuries, lack of form and suspensions. You've said yourself without him we wouldn't have won promotion. The same promotion which has made a lot of our players a pretty penny in bonuses. How many would still be at the club? Would Ramage, Cerny, Helguson and Shittu all have contract new contracts? How many of this squad would ever have had a chance of Premiership football? Yes, last season was a team effort but without his extra bit of class we may not have even finished in the top 6 and the players know that.
They'll put up with his strops if he translates that form into Premiership form. If he doesn't then Neil has Dyer as an alternative. I'd rather that headache then if Dyer was injured because there was no Taraabt and be asking ourselves what do we do now?

I'd be over-the-moon if we kept Adel.
He's by far and away the very best player we have on our books, and we would be mugging ourselves off if we sold him at this time for less than £20million.
Add to that the fact we have some of the tightest, most ill-suited to owning a football club ****s, any club was unfortunate enough to be lumbered with, and any news regarding a sale of Adel Taarabt falling through, is possibly the best news we've had all pre-season on the transfer front, and let's face it, with those two mugs in charge still, the only real piece of good news we'll have this transfer window more than likely.
Come on, Bernie, Flavio, fook off for fook's sake, will ya? Please, pretty please.

Where you do have a point is the danger that Warno thinks he will keep hold of him so builds his team round him again, then a few days before the Bolton game he disappears to Spain or France for not even particularly large amounts of money.Last edited by paulmason; 22-07-2011, 10:46 AM.
