    THis is correct mate...

2 bounce and KG will get hammered.

2B is just too weak, and isnt good enough to play as the "sweeper" and KG is too slow and movement will ruin him.

At least Gabbidon has played in Prem and international, also has some pace, something which we are seriously lacking.

Saw Hall again on Friday close up and he has a real presence about him, looks intimidating and other players have also said Fitz is the "toughest" player in the squad.

I rated Gabbidon a few years ago. Difficult to assess him based on last couyple of injury-plagued years though.
Thing is, Clint Hill had an awful period of injuries a few years ago and look at him now.... virtually an ever-present. Players DO get over these periods - just requires patience and careful handling; the evidence suggests that NW and our backroom staff know their stuff when it comes to players' rehab. Basically, it can't hurt to run the ruler over Gabbidon can it?

Danny Gabbidon or Bruno Perone?...........Blackpool signing Barry Fergusson, gutting that we cant compete with a team like Blackpool for a player who would improve our team ten fold

i can see Clint picking up quite a few red cards next season if he plays...has no pace and will be wrestling the wingers to the ground

You see, this is an excellent point that hasn't really been made before. Neil Warnock, recently in interview, said when he signed Clint (for Palace) that he was told for a fact that he was shot and would get into double figures for appearances - he then proceeded to play 40 plus games for them and again for us last season. Those are the facts and well done PedalR for bringing this up.

Gabbidon signed for hammers back in 2005 still not even made 100 starts for them....Could the Hammers physio be blamed for him like Dyer blames them for his poor record

Not trying to banter with you, more like correct you.

So are you saying that Neil was wrong to drop Connors and separate this so called 'best centre back partnership'?
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

                    Disgrace?

Get over yourself mate. Yes he was superb for 3 quarters of the season with massive help from Kenny Derry & Hill lets not forget but I'm talking about Premiership & the calibre of players he will be facing. Tbh I'd rather Shittu & Hall to rough players up a bit rather than my #### flapping every time the ball goes in the box if MC is playing.

Just to make it clear as I said earlier I like MC he is a good player but I see confidence issues that will be massively exposed next season. If he can prove me wrong I'd be the happiest person on here.

The thought of KG & MC facing the worlds best sends a shudder down my spine. We all saw 2 bounce crumble when dropped when he came on in a game & nearly cost us 2 goals not to mention couldn't cut out a basic cross to let Bellamy send one into the top corner.

He's a confidence player & one I can see turning to mush as soon as we concede against the big boys.

I like MC, decent player with the ball at his feet & a good defender but as I said confidence issues for me. Would love him to prove me wrong I really would.
In the same boat as you Ric. Potentialy i think a great player as he is very good on the ball but, as you say, confidence seems to be a huge issue for the lad and in the PL, when every point is going to count, we cant realy afford to have a centre half lacking confidence that could potentially cost us goals like the one at Cardiff away!
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Casually I would love an answer to what is a simple question.

I'd also like to add that it's hugely disrespectful to Paddy Kenny, who ric made a point about, as it was clear he rescued connors on many occasion.

It's not banter, I can assure you.

Take a look at the DVD for Leicester at home , and maybe Cardiff away. Also Forest at home.

Yakubu + Bellamy both Premiership players, you got a clear taste of what would happen to 2B.

Conners scared me alot. A defender does not let a ball bounce. He was good and he was bad. Did you see some of the strikers in that league last year......

People focus on 2 or 3 games when MC didn't play well. What about all the other games where he played very well? Can't be a bad player to have started his career at Arsenal. At least he has been available for most games. I think people forget that when Fitz Hall plays we very rarely keep a clean sheet. I remember when Sir Pie put the stats up. He has only ever played something like 8 games in a row before getting injured whilst his record in keeping a clean sheet is extremely poor. And has been with us for over 3 years.
