  • Warnock's quote re Taraabt

This has probably been posted already, so apologies for this.

NW quoted; “We’re quite optimistic either way. If we lost him, it would be easier for me in some respects. The money would come in handy but I don’t think we will spend any of it.

The money would come in handy. Is that a dig at the terrible two or is that a possibilty of money for players if Taarabt is sold? By the way I'm bored

How could he be optimistic If we sell him and cannot spend the money on a new replacement?

I think what he is saying is that the club needs to balance the books a little after the expense of legal fees last season and promotion bonuses early this season.

I also think he is being a little tactical here. If Taarabt is sold I can't see there being anyway that at least a small part of the fee comes back for transfers!

I thought a promoted club gets £50m. That's what I have heard before!

I think the comment is intended to be taken at face value. He means it would come in handy, no more no less, imo.

I genuinely believe Warnock isn't bothered whether Adel stays or goes. He has a plan either way. In some ways he is probably a little tired of all the effort it takes to make Adel play & having to feel he has to make him captain. He also knows the Prem will be different and needs all 10 outfield players working serious shifts every game. The positives of Adel staying speak for themselves so I think he is just letting time go and will see what happens like the rest of us. B&F want him sold to make money so Warnock is happy to play the unsure/maybe it's time type attitude so that he is almost seen as batting with them. It's all a game but more so a business....

Absolutely. I think Warnock's worry is he wants a deicion on Taarabt to be made asap so that he can better plan. For me, no player is bigger than a club. If Taarabt leaves then thanks and good luck. If he stays then great.

Very difficult - as we need to get top dollar for Adel which might mean holding out a bit longer and playing hard ball. So makes sense he isn't going to Cornwall or Italy gives a couple of weeks to sort it out.

So if the price isn't met he could come back into the last part of ode season without disrupting things, if we are going for an Adel like replacement it will prob be a loan so unlikely to happen until august that way.

If we get 15 million that will be 9 million for us, if Warnock isn't given at least 5m of that it is a f###king disgrace and I think he should walk out.

Warnock didn't sign Vine, Agyman, Alberti, ben Watson, parejo, tomassi list goes on paying stupid wages not to mention huge compensation fees on Sousa, magilton, dowie, di canio - half of the mess Flavio was involved in the thick of.

Warnock said at Jan, the board don't want to invest too much until they see where we are next year! Flavios mis management is costing us stability

Surely Paladini should pay those fees out of his own pocket, having single-handedly dragged the club into all that nonsense.

Was thinking this last night. It feels like Warnock is being punished for miss managment well before his time.

Throw is Di Carmine, Pellicori forcing out Blackstock and Camp at less then their market value and excessive expenditure on facilities which 95% of fans wont get the benefit of.

I think the current stance is an acceptance they done things wrong when they arrived and are now reluctant to spend anything further or their on the verge of selling up

Thats what promotions "worth" to a club. you dont get a 50mill lump sum paid into your account, it consists of TV rights, image rights and parachute payments if you are relegated (as I understand it anyways, may be wrong). The owners will obviously pocket this cash.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Exactly the same reason why Tango man insists on 'handling' the Taarabt transfer by himself.
