Crouch if anything is underrated. And if you just think about our system and the way we play, he is the one striker I would break the bank for because he fits that pattern of play better than any striker currently plying their trade in the premiership. £6m is frankly a bargin as well. This is also a player for whom pace is not an asset which means at 30 he's got a good 4 years at the top level in him yet.

A clever player, brilliant hold up play and knows where the goal is.

If we got Crouch it would be the biggest signing we have made in over a decade. He is a proven england international, why on Earth Capello doesn't pick him with his goal ratio I do not know. He is a proper bloke too, a great professional and would easily be our best player.

Regardless of the likelihood of signing Crouch, anyone who thinks he cannot play on the deck is seriously misguided. Also, we will badly need someone who is great at holding the ball up in the Prem, we need to keep possession. If we can play intelligent longer balls sometimes, to his chest and feet, he will be a massive asset.

Anyway, we can dream can't we...

            well

if crouch could guarantee that we survive the next three seasons then he is definately worth the six million

but i beleive rightly or wrongfully that if we pay the 200 000 for the gambian international who played at left back against harrow borough

i think we could play him as striker, dont forget jermaine defoe is only 5ft 7 inches

the other bad thing about lumping 6 million on one player if he gets badley injured we are in serious trouble

True. But the risks are surely less than that of the type of approach employed by Houston and Rioch for example...... which left a very dark cloud over our club for a very long time.

Besides - I don't think that DJ is completely off yet. Just a bit of hardball going on.

Obviously he would be great, but how likely is this, can we not just get a more realistic target like Cambell sealed

i'd love to see him back, could do a great job for us..but you ask why Capello doesnt pick him more, perhaps you should ask why the sainted Rednapp doesnt, and why Sir Harry is getting rid of him.....if he isn't good enough for Spurs..why England?

                          Just a thought........

Oh. And as for Crouchie. Yes bloody please. Imagine him as the front man with Bothroyd backing him up

I think Nw is playing a game, but I do feel crouch isn't realistic!

i completely agree, the reason warnock doesnt say we have money if we assume the tarbs dela goes through, if a club know we haave 9mill to spend they will push the price up of any player we are after , by claiming we have nothing clubs dont push price up and just want to sell. look at man city cos they got money to burn every player bought for 5-10 mill more then they should be cos everyone knows they got cash and want to extract as much as possible. as for saying crouch not good enough fou us...........fk me i thought i supported rangers not 1 of top 4

Yousef have u seen our strike force??? Vine, pelicori, dave, hulse and clarke. No way will this happen. 6m is where this article lost me. Crouch is too good 4 us anyway and if he joined he'd get 1 chance a game without adel creating
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

A long shot - for sure. But it might not be that far fetched.

The main potential fly in the ointment is that bunch of gearbox merchants in their little shed with their n0nce statue a few miles down the road..... and if he gets too greedy of course .
