One day I'll die and maybe before I do I'll be told that I'm going to die (no different to friends and family of mine sadly no longer with us) and if that happens I have two choices accept it and give up or enjoy what there is left to be had.
Touch wood that's a long way off but because it might happen should I start worrying now? Should everytime I get a little heartburn think it's a heart attack because I've chosen to ignore the fact I've just scoffed down a greasy fry up.
Clearly some would rather slit their wrists over something they have little or no control of. Some appear to worry more about the what ifs then care about the here and the now. I'd rather choose to enjoy what's ahead of me rather than thinking how much time I have left.
For both financial and some work commitments won't get to Loftus Road that much next season but it won't stop me from supporting the club from afar. I know how fellow fans feel as I feel the same about missing out because of the cost. However I have at least six matches to look forward to as they are on telly and I will pick and choose the other games when I can afford to but I won't get depressed or spend my life moaning unless circumstances change. When the facts are presented in front of us then I'll join those who are unhappy but with news changing regularly, with Warnock playing his usual media games and Premiership football on our doorstep I won't be getting suicidal just yet - I suggest for your own sanity that you do the same.
I will do all I can to find links during the season so that those like myself can still watch us play.
Just one point, if I may, the notion that posters who moan and whinge are "not supporting the club" and those that are optimistic and who don't complain are, is an over-simplification and just plain wrong, it's like saying anti-war protestors do not support the troops and are traitors. No, they don't like war, because they don't like the politicians who started it. I will support the club, what else am I gonna do, but I don't like the owners who run the club, selling adel for 9 mill, and not spending a penny of it, grabbing every free they can, looking for loans..yes I love Warnock to bits, doesn't mean I have to be grateful forever to Flavio and Bernie for 'saving the club'. We went up because of Warnock and Adel. Both are still with us, but you cannot guarantee they'll be here at Christmas, or even November. We can't even buy ONE player worth 5 million? While Bernie's daughter buys the most expensive house in the whole of America? Spin that one for me.
That is actually a very good post and I would agree with much of it. Not necessarily about the price of Bernie's daughters house as that is nothing to do with us.
I think what irritates a lot of people is the fact that very few, if any of us feel that everything is great, but accept the fact that the situation is what it is for now. However, some just bang on and on, day after day, not only about things that we know are wrong but many tend to latch onto any form of bad news story, regardless of whether it could be realistically true. Some others then accept it as fact and so it continues.
Be honest here, do you honestly think for one second that NW has been given a budget of £1.25m ? Personally, I cannot see that as anything other than ridiculous.
I apologise if my message came across in a way that made me sound like I was accusing a section of our fans of not supporting the club. I don't think that. I've never thought that. The lengths some of our fans go to support our club amazes me and makes me feel proud to be an 'R' however moany they maybe. The point of my opening post and the one that followed it was actually to say to all of our fans that although the situation may rapidly change whilst we aren't in that predicament why don't we just try and enjoy the coming weeks and months? Of course by the time the season begins a lot of things could well have happened and this thread will no doubt be brought up and I might even be ridiculed but when the post was written the facts were there for all to see. Facts which until they change should be making people excited. Instead a number of people are getting themselves down worrying about a situation that we can't change. I'm not claiming for one second (and if you read through every post I've ever written) that I would ever doubt the support of our fans just that I don't understand why create so much tension and anger for oneself when certain things haven't happened? Times change and so do situations and many will probably say I told you so when and if they do but that is for the future. Lets enjoy pre-season and see what the squad is and who is in charge when it really matters and that is against Bolton and on September 1st when our final 25 have to be announced.
As for BE spending money on his daughter that is completely up to him. Are we saying that he shouldn't spend money that he has earned on a daughter that he clearly loves? Should he spend even more of it on a team he clearly doesn't support? I've no doubt money is coming out of his pocket and out of FB's pocket to keep this club afloat right now. Of course we'd all love to see them spend more but why should they?

This is probably the 1st piece I have ever understood that you have written and actually agreed with.. My sentiments exactly.

Jeffro as I said in my response to WB in the post above yours I have not said anything about people not supporting the club. The point I've made a number of times is that people need to try and enjoy the season ahead of us rather than worrying about things that aren't in the control.
As for BE are we saying he is selfish for spending money on his daughter?
Very good piece as ever sir pie, certainly not going to pull it to pieces, all fact as you say.
What worries a large percengage of fans I speak to though are some more facts:
1) we couldn't afford Danny Graham
2) season ticket prices as astronomically high
3) we have lost some very loyal long going supporters due to ST prices
4) Neil Warnick has said himself that we have a 1.2 mil budget for transfers
5) we do not have Wayne Routledge
6) the club has unhealthy factions in it all the way from MB's to supporter groups to the Boardroom
You have chosen to write about all the positive "facts" I have balanced it out with some realistic "facts" - just depends where people choose to look at it from.
1) Do we know this for fact? Would he have come to us anyway? From reading an interview with him seem to want to play for Swansea and even chose them over WBA.
2) I agree – I’ve chosen to go part-time because I couldn’t afford to give up work to complete my degree quicker meaning that I won’t/can’t afford it next season. I will, as I said in my second post on this thread will try and find links to as many matches as possible so that those fellow Rs in the same predicament can see us play as much as possible.
3) Same as number two really but we will be back – I know this might be our one and only season for another 15 years but once FB and BE have finally left W12 those long loyal fans will hopefully return
4) Neil has said a lot of things and maybe I’m naïve but I think he is playing one of his games again. He probably has just that much money but why advertise it unless there is ulterior motive?
5) True but this may or may not matter. He has never really performed at this level and his loss will be felt in what is a squad game but he hasn’t signed for anyone else yet so who knows he might still return.
6) Agree and this of all the points raised is the one that will take the longest to sort out.
We are not asking our very wealthy owners to beggar themselves, all we want is some decent investment to go into strengthening the first-team squad, that's all.
£15-20million wouldn't see any of them in the poor house, and could provide the springboard we need to have a great first season back in the premier league, rather than an average one just avoiding relegation by the skin of our teeth.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Having said all that, if we are to try and do it all on the very cheap, then we couldn't have a better manager in Neil Warnock, though my heart goes out to him, because if anyone deserved a decent war-chest for the forthcoming campaign, it was our Neil.
No disrespect to SP but I think Water Buffalo is spot- on. The main thing to remove my anxiety would be a Mittal takeover. I do thing the Mittals understand what is required to maintain our PL status as does NW .
