  • Give me your thoughts about The Article i wrote about QPR

    Good afternoon!

I'm living in Switzerland, my passion is English football and I've been a QPR fan for the last 4 years. With a few french friends we had the idea to start a website that talks about English football in general and not only the big four, what doesn't exist in France. We started it last week and the first articles we are writting are Preview for each Premier League team for next season, and i started with QPR.

It's in french, but for those who are interested to read it or understand french, i post you the link here:

    http://mypremierleague.wordpress.com/

We are a few young fans of british clubs (There's me who supports QPR, a Chelsea fan:yush:, an Everton fan, an Arsenal fan, a Leeds fan and a few others)It's a huge challenge for all of us to write such articles as we have no experience in journalism.

It would be very nice if you could read it and if you could comment (even in English) so that we can have your thoughts and improve our work.

Thank you very much and Come On You R'ssss!

Welcome ! I don't understand French, but an interesting opening photo you got there. Never seen that red inverted star flag at Loftus Road but I only fly in for a few games per year... Is that Satan worshipping or some leftist guerilla symbol or what?
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

      Kirill,

That's Ben, (QPR Grandad), waving his Moroccan flag. You wouldn't have seen it because you sit behind a pillar.

It's morroco's flag. There's often this flag in the upper South Africa Road Stand, just beside the Director's box.

Don't worry if you don't understand french. Our goal with the website is to help french people to know the Whole premier league and not only the big4.

Maybe I will, but it took me 10 days to write it in french, my language, so imagine the time it would take to rewrite it in english. I'll see if it's worth it!
Thank you, i am very proud to write in french about QPR because it's not something that is usually done on the football websites so i hope i reflected well the spirit of the club.

Four years ago, i was 16 years old, and for my birthday my father offered me a trip to London with him. As he is a football fan and i was too, we went to the Emirates Stadium, to see an early kick-off Arsenal-Wigan. I wasn't an arsenal fan, we choosed the match because it was at a good time (we were landing at Gatwick a few hours before). After the game my father (who went 5 times to Loftus Road in the 80's during the two monthes he lived at Ealing to learn english) was unhappy with the lack of atmosphere and of "british spirit" in the ground. He bought a newspaper, looked at the fixtures, and saw that QPR was playing 30 minutes later vs Wolves. he just remembered that Loftus Road was near Shepherd's bush, so we took the underground, got lost in Shepherd's bush, and eventually arrived at half-time. The ticket office was closed, so we went through the C-Club door, explained we were QPR fans from switzerland (what at the time wasn't true) and were given two tickets at half-price because we missed the first half.

And there my father found what he had left 25 years earlier, the true british football (Impressing how Loftus Road hasn't change in 30 years!). The atmosphere was great, we won 1-0 thanks to a Rowlands wondergoal. I sat next to a grandmother who was yelling You R's, what i at first didn't understand. When we went off the ground i phoned my uncle and told him how i enjoyed the match and he told me : "Buy a QPR shirt, i'll pay it when you go back!" And then i ordered "Hooped Dreams" learned english through football and tried to understand QPR and its history. The Leeds United game back in may was my 4th QPR game (3 at LR, one at Swansea). Being a QPR fan gives you more lows than highs, but i don't regret it for a second and i've never enjoyed myself in my life than last year. Today I'm just glad that Millwall didn't play this day though i'm not sure i could have been a Millwall fan....

Great story! Not many people would choose QPR out of choice but it certinally isn't dull supporting us! Last year was a special season good to hear you got to see a few games!

I was there when we played Wolves, I think they were top of the league at the time (friday night game from memory on sky) and remember Rowlys goal well!

Welcome to the site and nice article again

I think it was a Sathurday night at 17.30 something like that. When i bought the shirt i decided there was no way-back, it would be QPR for life. I didn't know all the dramas around the club, but it's part of the parcel.
Two seasons ago i was there for our 2-1 defeat vs Leicester on a friday night at LR, and this season i saw Swansea-QPR on a tuesday night in Wales (goalless draw) and the Leeds game. it's not a lot but last year i really enjoyed it in front of my laptop. I could see 20 games in streaming and even if singing alone is not as good as singing at LR, the run of good results made very happy! In one year, i'll live in London for 8months so i hope we'll still be in the top flight so that i will be able to se 5 or 6 matches!

Well he got it upside down and I used to listen to a lot of heavy metal when I was younger, hence my incorrect assumption
