  • Tubby Tanned Poodle and Kieron Dyer.

"Tubby tanned poodle" is the new name given to Flabio by Des Kelly of The Mail in an article in today's paper which, as usual, I'm having problems giving you a link.
Basically its says that Dyer has started only 18 games in FOUR years. He has accepted a reduction in his £83,000 a week wages (£73k a week + £100 loyalty fee + £424k image rights).Add in the £6m that W.Ham paid to Newcastle in the first place,it is estimated that Dyer cost a grand total of over £23m ( ie £1.3m per game).
Kelly goes on to say " Hopefully,he can give better value at QPR.But with Bernie Ecclestone and his Tubby Tanned Poodle Flavio Briatore rumoured to be selling up,Dyer might even be in a position to by the club".

17 appearances last season from Dyer. He's getting fitter, and as he's on a pay as you play deal, I see no risk. Tabloids seem to love to make a horror story out of anything.

Not read the exact details of the deal for KD but is it a definite that it's a pay as you play deal or is this just conjecture? Cheers in advance...

I'm sure I read that if Dyer isn't in the squad, he doesn't get paid.

Hopefully therefore,a win-win situation, although I fear far more losses than wins next season unless the owners take the padlock off the war chest or sell up and p*ss of which is the preferred option.

Exactly, mate. I still rate him as well.

Good move for us. Another who I'm sure wouldn't have joined us if he believed the bad hype we're being fed.

On the 9/6 Yusef asked who do you think will be our first signing? I looked round for the person with the worst injury record , who would be cheap and match our owners ambition. My answer Keiron Dyer

Only paid if in the squad.
Warnock said as much in TV /Radio interviews this week.

I'd be interested to understand jusy how much of a paycut he's taken.
I'd also heard from a West Ham source he was on £83k a week, so if he falls into our (alleged) wage cap, he's dropped at least 58k a week.

Fair play to him if so. I really hope it works out for him AND US !

spot on Benny! A player with 33 England caps obviously has the ability and him being on a pay as you play means he is obviously going to be motivated to play and proove himself. Great deal i think.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

When in fact it is quite the opposite, right?
