  • No place in 25 man squad for Hulse, Agyemang, Cook, Rowlands and Hewitt

    Hi

It willl be interesting to see whom of present squad members will not make the 25 man squad in the Premier League.

As things stands now I take it that following 20 players are safe:

Kenny, Cerny, Hill, Orr, Ramage, Hall, Connolly, Gorkss, Shittu, Faurlin, Derry, Taarabt, Vaagan Moen, Buszacky, Smith, Ephraim, Mackie, Dyer, Bothroyd, Helguson.

I assume one place will go to a third choice goal keeper, meaning there are room for four other players. Warnock has indicated he is right now looking to bring in three or four new faces, assumed to be Campbell (or Webber - hopefully not), Naughton and one or two other defenders (left back and centre half).

This effectively means thereis no room for anyone else, unless oneor more of the safe 20 are leaving, like Taarabt.

Should no one leave there is no space for Hulse, Agyemang, Rowlands, Cook, Ehmer or Hewitt.

It goes without saying than Borrowdale, Vine, Clarke, German and Balanta (is he still with us?) will have no chances.

To complicate it even more: should Warnock go for both Campbell and Webber and maybe a hot young prospect from a top six club on a one loan deal we need to offload more than Taarabt from the "safe 20" to find space.

Arent Ehmer and Hewitt under 21 and so theyre not included in the 25? I thought there was no limited on u21s?

Orr for me was very disappointing last year, it may be because i was comparing him to Walker. The guy cannot cross the ball to save his life. No room in the squad for him IMO.

Matty u are correct which will include Balanta too, out of the 25 we also musty have 8 home grown players.

Defeinition, a home grown player must have been with your club for more than 3 years, now looking at our turn of players looking at our squad not many of them comply to this. So there may be a future for Cook / Rowland after all in order to help us comply.

          Anyone knowing the exactly rules?

This 25 man squad system is new to most of us. If there is no limit on under 21s it would be nice to know. Moreover, if there is also a prerequisite that a certain number of squad members have to be under a certain age it would be good to know.

          Anyone that can enlighten us?

Unlimited number of players under 21 so they are not included in the 25

                Thanks a lot for feedback.

From the "safe 20" I understand that 6 have been more than three years: Cerny, Hall, Ramage, Buzsaky, Gorkss and Conolly.

Helguson has been here more than three years as well, but I think it doesn't count, as his first year was on loan. Can anyone bring clarity to whether loan periods count?

If just six of the safe 20 are fulfilling the criteria we need another two from outside the safe 20. I think this means Putnins is bound to be third choice goalie - if not Warnock would struggle to get the squad number to add up if he wants to bring in a few more faces.

If Putnins is in the squad it means one of Cook, Rowlands, Agyemang or Balanta will be in there - as Ehmer, Hewitt, German, Andrade, Doughty and other u21 would escape because of age.

Out of the four mentioned I think Agyemang would be Warnocks choice.

Whatever way we look at it there would still be no room for Hulse, Vine, Borrowdale Clarke unless Warnock offload players or sign less new players than he indicates.

Orr looked alright till we had Walker play that position. I think Walker had just the same impact on the games when he played as what Adel had...

The definition of home grown is trained for three years under the age of 21 by somebody in the English and Welsh professional system. So i think only Faurlin, Vaagan Meon, Buszacky and maybe Gorkss are classified as not home grown.

Think that is the case mate. Orr isnt a bad right back at all but its simply in comparison to Walker (who really is a special talent- agree with the comment about his impact) he looked bad.

One more question to those knowing the rules: Would Shittu qualify as being homegrown, having stayed more than three years with us if you add all the various spells at Loftus Road together?

If so, 7 out of the 20 are qualifying, pluss possibly Helguson if loan periods count and/or Putnins if he is picked.

We'd be ok if it was no limit for over 30s too.
