Do you not think there is an element of him playing things down, here? I can't imagine he'd stay if there was no backing at all. I would imagine that he has a few ideas, and with that, he'll need money. Whether that be hard cash to spend, or money for loan fees/wages.

I still feel we're going to assemble a good squad. The likes of Upson, Naughton, DJ and Bullard will give us a good foundation to build from.

Maybe a few shockers like Jenas and Bridge on loan. Yes, you'll believe that won't happen, but I'm not so sure. Neil has always played things down, and loves the 'poor me' routine. Half of what he says, he does with a big smile, and an air of sarcasm to it. As I say, I can't see Neil ever being one to stand for shananigans.

I'll also add...Maybe another reason he's still here is that we are closer to a take over than we think? He may be telling the truth that there is no money right now, but he's confident that there will be a take-over soon, and from that...Transfer funds?

I'm not part of the wrist slashing brigade but that is a wildy optimistic interpretation.

great post Benny, sounds pretty sensible tbh.

Or he is playing mind games with other clubs when we do go after players to make sure we dont get ripped off??

Do you expect him to say I have this or that to spend so clubs can raise their price's etc.

Warnock is as clever as a **** house rat, been round the block and stopped off at everyhouse when it comes to football within the media.

If things were really that bad he would be gone by now.

No, mind games being played here.

If he is telling the truth either **** off or stop moaning.

He know's the score, just get on with the job now.

Why should he **** off, as you charmingly put it?

This is probably his last shot at the Premiership. He has earned the right to manage there.

I don't blame him for being mighty annoyed by his lack of backing but ever the professional I'm sure he'll do his best to make sure we go down with a roar more than just a wimper.

I agree he has earned that right, but if he knows the budget, moaning about what he has to spend won’t change that will it?

I bet if Bothroyd has seen that interview he is wishing he hadn't signed, was he lied to?

Warnock knows he's unlikely to get another chance at managing in the Premiership before he retires, he won't walk no matter how badly he's messed around. Besides he's probably aware T&C are looking to sell so why not wait it out.

Just seen the interview anyway and my gut feeling is Adel's off. The only thing we can hope for is if Flavio's greed ends up scaring PSG off... wouldn't rule it out.

But then again money is no object for them either.

That is true, but it might go against a sentence or two in the contract he signed when he came to the club. I am sure he would not have signed it, if it stipulated he would only have £1.25M to spend on fees and Taarabt would be sold.

Not sure he was moaning, probably just trying to explain to a couple of incredulous interviewers why a club owned by a pair of billionaires is reduced to signing Championship casts offs and one of the most notorious sick-notes in the history of the game on a pay-as-you-play deal. Maybe you would rather bury your head in the sand - I'd rather know the truth.
