  • Dyer could replace Taarabt - Warnock

(What I do find funny is all talk of Jimmy Bullard has ended)

QPR boss Neil Warnock will warn Adel Taarabt and Kieron Dyer there is room for only one of them in his Premiership side.

The manager was fully expecting to be told his mercurial Moroccan star had been sold by now, but Taarabt turned up for training on Monday – a week earlier than expected, and Warnock is not expecting last season’s Championship player of the year to be sold anytime soon.

Dyer has agreed a one-year deal this week after impressing his new boss at a frank interview – with the manager penciling in the former Newcastle and West Ham star for a slot just behind the main attack.

He added: "Kieron’s pace would be ideal for that role, and in truth, with all the speculation – I thought Adel might be moving.....................

Despite what Nodge and other were saying, NW is absolutely right in saying there is only room for Taarabt or Dyer or Bullard (if he signs) as the stroller in the team and for NW to say that, he must be impressed in Dyers fitness or he is showing Taarabt the door, politely.

I thought it would be Dyer to replace Routledge using pace down the flanks with Tarbs still behind lone striker

Adel in normal position, Dyer battling out with Smith and Mackie for the wide right role.

Warnock boosting Dyer's confidence whilst also throwing down the gauntlet to Tarbs at the same time. Good man management again for Sir Neil.

I hope he knows what he's doing; could get very messy if Dyer's injured

Surprised by that, I've always seen Dyer operate on the right, never in the free role behind the striker, but might be wrong.

Appears that Bullard can no longer be a target - assume we were frightened off by his wages.

Also wd suggest there is a future for Derry.

                  Adel Taarabt

"But he’s keen to get started again, and so for the time being I have two excellent players who can fill the gap.

"When I met Kieron it was all about him wanting to play again and prove past injuries were behind him.

"Money didn’t even come into the reckoning. And you can call it one of those manager inklings if you like – but I could see myself getting on well with him."

Funny how he does not say that at all in the Quotes / Interview, he basically says he thought of Dyer as an option for that role, Tarbs is keen to get going again now he has two excellent players that can play there, nothing whatsoever that, that is the only position that Dyer would be considered for..

Warburton taking liberties to make a story me thinks

Hi Jeffro good to see you back, I thought u'd be off work and watching the open?
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Dyer hates playing wide right, to the point he got Bobby Robson sacked for trying it. Dyer considers himself a central attacking midfielder, and he scored a fair few goals for Newcastle from that position.

It's just the English way to put small, fast people out wide.
