  • Why I have always liked Flav & Bernie

I feel brave enough to write this now that people have something to smile about.

Simple really, Bernie love him or hate him knows how to make money, the moment he got involved I was sure we would get to the prem, cos that's where the money is in football.

Flav may be a flash git, but he has attracted people/money to rangers that we could have never have dreamed of. He seems to have learnt to keep his nose out of the dressing room and leave the footy to NW.

Ok prices have gone up and there is still plenty wrong at QPR, but I think the club was in a truly terrible state when they took over from top to bottom.

No matter what anyone says they have spent huge sums of money sorting old problems out and bank rolling the team.

I for one am pleased that we have them, especially with Amit still waiting in the wings should the price be right.

It's been to long since the worlds best came to loftus road. I for one am over the moon to see that again, beats seeing wycombe on a cold tuesday night in front of 10,000 fans.

So thank you Bernie and Flav (if he keeps his nose out of the footy side). It has been a roller coaster ride to get here, but we are back where we always dreamed of being.

In the last few seasons we have had it all, relegation, administration, reletation again, new owners who promised the world but delivered nothing, board room battles, a series of hopeless players, more managers than I can remember. The list goes on

Then NW comes in, Flav keeps his nose out, money becomes available and we win the league.

Bernie and Flav seem to have learnt how football works, more signings due in very soon, a team is taking place, and the sun is shining.

We have been a joke club since the late 90's, while we are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, I think people are starting to take us seriously again.

We could be in a lot worse state, think Birmingham, Plymouth etc

Ok they've done their bit, good and bad, but I still feel it's time to move along to someone else.

Their mentality is not to accept defeat. They will spend to avoid that at all costs.

And for all the things they have got wrong, I can't help but like something about them.

After all we are Premier league.......

um... do you remember the constant meddling of the dowie / ainsworth / sousa / aimsworth season?

...or, for that matter, the magilton / gallen + bircham / hart / harford / warnock season?

ok - we got warnock in the end, but god knows how. t + c had made our club a joke (unfortunately, not a very funny joke).

Indeed. Their egos will not accept defeat.
Which is why we wont go down with them as owners.
They might not be mr nice guy but power and narcissism are ultimately more important to them than money.
BE is particulary stubborn which is why he wont compromise with Mittal.
NW is the ideal manager for them, as in the short term they want survival without coughing up too much cash.
But they will also want to show off to other rich ponces, so the temptation to 'go big' will be there.
The club being up for sale is destabilising but they dont need to sell and wont flog it cheap.
I see BE as an upmarket totter with a chip on his shoulder who doesnt give a monkeys about what anyone thinks.
Everytime i see photos of him or he is being interviewed it cracks me up.
Him and Flabio are a hilarious comedy double act.
There is certainly no shortage of drama which is very entertaining and we are used to being 'on the edge'.
Who knows what is around the corner?
But lots of clubs would swap with us.
                  I wouldn't swap with them.
I must say i have enjoyed the last year more than any since 1958, except the halycon days of 1966-7.

Think Bobby has it spot on, not arguing about the fact that they have made big mistakes, but life has certainly been colourful over the last couple of seasons, and we have got to the premier league.

Bernie is a self confessed wind up merchant, Flav a 60+ year old playboy, it was never going to be a quiet ride with these guys.

It is obvious they don't care about the fans, they care about the business, which ultimately is the club we support, perhaps if previous owners had taken a leaf out of there book we may not have just spent 15 years in the lower reaches of English football.

Firstly brave post mate but a interesting outlook. Flav and Bern have made a lot of ****ups probably never to recover from in some if not most fans eyes. But i do believe for 2 complete amatuars they have performed a miracle in getting us to the prem. Yes we had Flav turn us into a manager graveyard emmbarasing a joke awful. Then the orange one got ousted from F1 and if anything he calmed right down. Neil Warnock has came in and gained a god like genius status amongst us and imo rightly so. I was getting very nervous as we all where a few weeks ago about the clubs progress. But now I really believe we can have a good season nxt yr. Maybe not top 5 as some people have posted but staying up certainly.

T and C are like Marmite you either love em or hate em but i believe they are learning.

I haven't read other posts as they are more then likely negative and after posting this I will not look back on the thread.

But I do like Bernie and Flavio, they have made some mistakes but also got us to the Premier League in there own way, doesn't matter what you think of them, they are winners at what they do
                            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                            And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO
