  • Is it the Agents?

Watching on SSN Stoke chairman having a moan at agents he thought a deal was agreed for Jerome & Danns but the agent tried to increased personal terms. Good for Stoke told them they would look elsewhere.

Can't see our board getting involved in a Dutch auction for anyone.

Not defending anyone just think agents move the goal posts more than we realise?

Football agents cause a lot of problems, and will often come in after a deal is brokered but not yet signed, to try and up wages etc.
Certainly think Taarabt's agent did him no favours last year, and isn't doing him any this year. They put big but unrealistic ideas into players' heads, especially young ones, purely to line their pockets with their cut.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

Agreed which is why the deal remains unsigned you can not count on anything.

Agents are the cancer of football, they unsettle players that are happy, they auction the players to the highest bidder not just whats best for the player career and in some cases when the player is younger they ruin him.

To me a players money should come out of the players wage and no money should be paid by the clubs, but as usual this is not the case, the club pays all of it , if not most of it.

There is a need for them is some cases but in most the players should do what we all do and that is negoitate it themselves when interviewed.
One for all.... and all for one

        I'd love Danns at QPR!
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Like in all walks of life, there are good one's and there are bad one's. If clubs were more transparent and told the truth to players there would be no need for them, it works both way's, look at the Kenny saga at our club at the moment, promised one thing then it seems to be taken away. That's why players go to agents to delegate for them.

Dunno why all the clubs don't band together and flatly refuse to pay any money to agents. I accept footballers are too thick to negotiate on their own behalves and they may need to use a third party or agent to sort out their contracts but the player should clearly pay the agent for the help received. How the current situation of clubs paying £££££s to agents evolved is totally beyond me.

Taarabts agent sounds like Modrics one, tells him last season sign a six year deal at spurs (agent gets paid) now this year leave go to Chelsea so I can get paid again

Kind of miss the days of Cloughie he wouldn't have dealt with any agents

A lot of players do pay there agents, depends who the agent is working for the club or the player.
