  • If we sign both DJ and Booth

Will Warno opt to play 4-4-2 ? I cant see us leaving one on the bench if we play our last system.

Those 2 could score 20+ goals between them imo,so we'd have to play them together in a 4-4-2.Or if we only signed 1,id still go 4-4-2 with HH.

DJ can play on the right and with WR off to Wales I assume he will replace him and hopefully get more goals then him. If Taarabt stays.

didn't know that del - though call me old fashioned but if we finally have a goal poacher, why stick him out wide? we tried that with simpson and it seemed to ruin a half decent player.

NW likes a bigman up front, which I assume is why we signed bothroyd, and that is the only way to include Adel into the team. In a 4231 the only place for DJ is the wing, however if Adel leaves we have some money to spend and we can spend some money to get a good team together and build a 442 with DJ + Jay up front.

Bear in mind we've been used to our midfielders scoring goals for so many years it will be great having goal scoring strikers ( To be fair Helguson did score 9 which isn't a bad return )
                Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                And many more mistakes

Andy booth used to be a decent player but I think he's past it now. I thought he retired?

If we sign them both, I'll eat my ginger mirkin.

maybe just maybe warnock will go for bust....we played some lovely football last season(not something normaly connected with neil) and given these signings(if true) he might look to go for a less direct approach.

My thoughts too. Think its gotta be a 4-4-2 thats if DJ comes.

IMO, we need to ply 4-2-3-1 next season, so you can not play Boothroyd & DJ, as well as Faurlin & Derry in their most favoured positions, in the same team, so it will be one or the other and if Boothroyd signs, I bet DJ doesn't, as he wont want to sit on the bench. We would reenact Custers last stand, week in week out if we did.

                            A) Warnock does not do 4-4-2 and has not done for years, in the whole of last season we went 4-4-2 for one half of one game

                            B) We cannot compete with a midfield 2 against everyone else who has a midfield 3 it would be absolutely suicidal.

                            C) Warnocks preferred formation is 4-2-3-1 he played it from the moment he arrived with 4-3-3 as an alternative.

                            D) We don't have the midfield for 4-4-2 nor the wingers, nor the full backs our success was built on the back four (except for the walker period) barely crossing the half way line, it would be hugely surprising should he want to change it.
