Could be the start of something very good. Better than Swansea are doing, and they've done well. Norwich however...
BennyBoy is absolutely right - two strikers worthy a mid Premier League side, say Stoke, Bolton or Fulham. I think this says a lot for a team expected to fight relegation. I am more than happy, but I won't hold my breath yet as I understand we have not agreed salaries and that's the hardest bit of course.

Campbell scored 13 goals for B'pool last season. That would have been close to 20 had he played for a team in the top half. That says a lot - we can't possibly expect to attract players much better than that if we are fair to ourselves. An England international in Bothroyd would also be magificent. But seeing is believing!

It's all coming together nicely, makes the ST renewal worthwhile, not that It made any difference though as I would have renewed anyway.

They are the best players we could of got, delighted!

Much better value for money then Morrison, Vaughan, Graham & CMS
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Agree with Benny, Eastcotte, James and others.

Don't know how it stacks up with wages/ bonuses etc included but I'm guessing Bothroyd and Campbell combined would work out at about the same expense as Graham - and I'd certainly take the two together over Graham. I might even take DJ on his own over Graham, given that he is now a proven Premiership player. As for Bothroyd v Graham, Graham scored a few more goals last season but it was Bothroyd who caught Capello's eye. As for Morrison, don't think he is fit to tie either's bootlaces (IMHO).

Not counting chickens - board capable of refusing to sanction the deals - but IF they sign it would be brilliant business by the club and a reminder that our owners wouldn't have made all that money if they were TOTAL clowns.

DJ scored 13 in the Prem, £23m Darren Bent was the only Englishman who scored more.

Jay has bagged 20 for Bardiff the last two season, plus alot of assists.

Seriously brilliant piece of business, just hope we arent counting our chickens too soon! Was starting to think I was a mug for buying a ST!!!!

If (and its a big if) they do sign. Im sure Tarbs would wonna stay with us and they would be a great carrot for others to sign even Routy.

Agree Eastcotte that is certainly how it works at a normal football club - but this close season its as if there have been two different power blocks in operation. Warno - perhaps with Gianni - seems to have agreed quite a few deals only for the board to pull the plug. Cautiously delighted by these developments but am not taking anything for granted till I see him posing in the famous blue and white - of Rangers not Everton...
