  • Not our trophy

We've not been engraved as 2011 winners on the Championship trophy yet, bloody disgraceful.

Was told today at the plaque unveiling that the club and the Football League are arguing over who should pay for it.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

You surely cannot be implying that the FL would even enter into a discussion with a football club who has just won their biggest trophy, with regards to who is obliged to pay for it? Surely not?

Well that appears to be the case with Rangers.

Surely it can't cost more than 50 quid to get it engraved.

But as you say, nothing surprises me these days with Rangers.

Hammersmith who told you that? If so that is embarrising but from what i understand the Football League could not engrave it as they did not know the outcome of the FA points deduction before the Leeds game therefor were not happy engraving a trophy that could have gone to another club. The Football League tend to engrave all League trophies after 9 months which is the time when the winning clubs have to return the trophies back to them. They then have the option of getting a 3 quarter size replica done. This is what i was told by a pal of mine who once worked at the National Football museum at PNE before it moved to Manchester. This could be the reason?
