No deal could be met then, I think the wages was the deal breaker.

Not the end of a world. He's a 32 year crock with 2 dodgy knees. We've got an injury prone player in Fitz Hall, we don't need anymore players to join him in the treatment room after every other game!
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Doesnt mean he wouldŽnt come to us eventually!
I bet negotiations are ongoing with references to our breathtaking NOTWlesque takeover debacle, phew.

I want him in our squad. He played many cracking games last year.

Dosnt mean the deal is dead, what it means is that they are holding out to see if anyone else will pay a higher portion of his wages (assuming they want to reduce there wage bill). Ipswich fans love him, he won player of the year and they just sold that bloke for a bucket load, I would be surprised if they went back for him, its going to come down to who is going to pay the highest proportion of his wages.

they will also want him on preseason to show everyone he is fit and it puts him in the shop window
One for all.... and all for one
