  • My QPR

You can divide supporters of a club into 3 sections: those who go and watch their team, those who are avid supporters but who only watch on TV and those who support a team just because.
25 years ago I made the decision that I was to support QPR and I was actually going to support them from the terraces. Now in 25 years I've seen out numerous owners, I've seen out: Gregory, Bulstrode, Wright, Blackburn (not sure if he owned us) Power etc etc, I've even seen us floated on the stock exchange. I'm not going to even go into the amount of managers I've seen. Now I don't care who owns or runs this club, because I made a somewhat subconscious decision 25 years ago to go along and support my club week in week out and I will carry on doing so for at least the next 25 years. Balls to Bernie, balls to Flavio, balls to Wright, balls to Thompson, I support QPR. I sit in my seat in the sunshine, the snow, the rain and the cold, I laugh when we win, I've cried (sometimes) when we lose, I've seen us win 6-0, I've seen us lose 4-0, I get angry, I get sad, but I don't care i am QPR and I will be sat in my seat for the next 25 years and I'll see out any other owners you can throw at me, but you'll never take away my love, you'll never kill my spirit, because I am QPR

    Good for you.

Would be nice if we had someone with half your enthusiasm and feeling for QPR actually running the club......or providing the backing / money to at least compete in the Prem.

Fair play to you mate. And a Blue Peter Badge for your unwavering support and endurance is on it's way to you. And if it's not, it should be.

              Absolutely

              Great post Windsor.

It's where I lived when my southern Manc supporting dad tried to make me support Man Utd - and when a true R's fan took me and his son every week to see us play so I spent my first earnings on a ST.

I thank him for making me an R's fan - despite the ups and downs, because I support a real team and have enjoyed meeting and moaning with my fellow fans.

Spurs, Man City, Blackburn, Arsenal, Bolton, etc have hardly been setting the transfer market alight, so let's have a little patience. We won't sign the same class as they will and I'm as worried as most about T&C, but we are Premier League and I hope, I pray we will follow the model of Stoke City and build from our promotion, but it takes time and careful financial management (sheeprangers post on the subject was a start but not looking at long-term strategy)

Any chance we can believe for a bit instead of slagging each other off?

                ave it

Believe, believe. Championship, premiership, division 1 and 2, who knows we may end up in non league. Every year just give it all you got. Sod the signings, sod the manager, sod the crap burgers and the warm beer, when you are sat in that seat at kickoff , it's just you the team in front of you and the fans around. ave it large, sing till your voice goes, clap till you hands hurt, boo if you want, because you are there, just you and the team in the blue and white hoops.

                  Well said mate.

I can understand everyone's frustration and the negative people have lots of reasons for feeling as they do. Just hope things change upstairs soon.

                  Welcome, by the way.

it gets a bit much when supporters say they'd rather qpr still be in the championship instead of the Prem (ST's and Match Day prices) with that logic, if you want even cheaper tickets support a team in the 4th division, then. QPR going up after 15 years means everything to me. If we were 6th in the Prem there'd still be people moaning.
