Agreed, both in terms of him scoring and creating for others.

With all due respect, Mackie shone for a third of a season in the Championship, his first real stint at that level after being released by a succession of lower league clubs. Anyone suggesting he would perform better than Routledge is basing this on what?

        Harsh..

Who knows how well he would have done had he not broken his leg..

Wayne Routledge has had his chance with a number of different clubs and not managed to make it in the prem.

Personally speaking id like to give Mackie a chance rather than a modern day mercenary who is clearly only signing for the long contract he will demand.

Wayne Routledge is a good championship player, Mackie is untested in the Prem but id personally rather take a chance on him than go with a player who we already suspect wont succeed and will then be stuck with on large wages.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

To be fair Nodge we are not suggesting he WILL be better and as said above who really knows how the rest of his season would have panned out last year.
What we are saying is that WR has tried and failed on several occassions to cut it in the PL - isn't signing for us isn't a massive blow when we have Mackie who is yet unproven at the level but has at least an even chance of being a better option than Wayne - and probably at a fraction of the cost.

              Exactly Nodge.

I love Mackie's drive & desire but Prem quality I'm not so sure.

None of us can be sure Ric because he has never tried - WR on the other hand has tried (several times) and failed on each occassion.

I would rather watch Mackie try (and judge whether he fails or succeeds) than watch WR knowing his record.

Must say I thought back end of last season WR did track back a lot more than in his first spell.

But this time he had the chance to play for Warnock!!

I liked WR the second spell, touches of class! Am eager to see how Mackie gets on,for first time in weeks i;ve got some positive anticipation, want him to do well, i think he wouldh ave picked up again if he hadnt bust his leg.

I hope Mackie is 100 % fit from Spetember on at least. I can´t see him being fit for the first matches. But he deserve to be given the chance to prove himself in the prem.

If Taarbt leaves I fear for Wayne´s willingnes to play for us. They seemed to gel OK last yest.

Routs is off to play for Sven according to reports and Adel wants away so i dont think its going to matter.

If reports are correct I hope Warnock is able to sort out Mackie´s first touch which is a little dire at times.

                              He helped Wayne improving his!!
