  • 2 Days To Go...

Until mass hysteria & panic sets in on watrb & around the QPR fan base.

Eternal optimist qblockpete himself two days ago said that if we haven't wrapped up DJ Campbell & Jimmy Bullard by the weekend then its pretty much official that very bad things are happening behind the scenes.

Btw its not doom & gloom its REALISM we are starting pre season training today, the club is off on tour very soon, targets are being identified & then are being lost to other clubs, we are about to lose our star player, players will not fancy joining a club with such a circus going on around it & things look generally pretty damn bad.

If we haven't signed anyone by this weekend I'm gonna be honest & say we are in for big trouble this season. The whipping boys no doubt.

Tick tock tick tock tick tock....

But remember what some will tell you its only July FFS!!

Bullard: Town Return Would Make Me Very Happy
    Thu 07th Jul 2011 09:50

Former Blues loanee Jimmy Bullard says he would be a “very happy man” if a deal could be done to facilitate his return to Portman Road. The one-time England man began pre-season training with Hull City this week but with a move away from the KC Stadium looking all but certain this summer.

Hull are desperate to offload the 32-year-old, who has two years remaining on his £45,000-a-week contract, which makes up 21% of their wage bill.

The midfielder, who was named the Blues’ Player of the Year after a hugely successful loan spell in the second half of last season, was recently reported to be in talks with Hull regarding a settlement of his contract. The Tigers are as yet unwilling to talk about a further loan, preferring to get the £5 million signing from Fulham's future sorted once and for all.

Town boss Paul Jewell had ruled the Blues out of the running for his former Wigan player’s signature but, as TWTD reported last week, the large fee received from Sunderland for Connor Wickham will have made a potential deal more achievable.

Bullard, who is understood to have held talks with QPR earlier in the summer, says his future is still very much up in the air: “I’ve not really thought about things too much yet. I’ve been away for six or seven weeks and now I’m back in training with Hull.

IMO, that's my Pete has done a runner, as he knows nothing is going to happen and he would cop dogs abuse for the stuff he was saying over the last 8 weeks, so he is in hiding until the season starts or something positive happens and he can claim a 'I told you so' moment.

Pete is I hear a nice guy & he has given us an excellent site to banter & debate on but I have to agree with Paul that it seems as though the realisation of the whole situation has set in & Pete has been informed by his sauces that we will NOT be signing said players & knows the flack that is inevitably heading his way & has decided to go underground.

I know Pete can only relay what he's told himself but boy was he sure about all them players Jeffro mentioned.

Disappointed in the whole sorry affair is an understatement.

We are in a very strange place at the moment.

The other two promoted teams have been added to their squads. In their opinion, they have strengthened their squads. We, as QPR fans, may disagree that the signings will make any difference, but their fans will at least see, that their clubs have made some effort to make some sort of dent into their promotion survival.

Warnock, is a manager who has made it clear , that he likes to get a certain amount of "instrumental" players in early. He wanted 2-3 by end of May.

Just over a month to start of season and only weeks away from first friendly and ther ahs been no activity.

Add the fact, that we have made no announcement of a new premiership kit and the problem with sponsorship.....the slicence is deafening indeed.

                        Good post Spencer.

You are right that its easy to think Norwich have made some shite signings & Swansea some mediocre ones but at least they have made SOME bloody signings.

What's worrying me is that its getting late now & if we are losing out on these supposed 'in the bag' deals who the hell are we gonna end up with?

Desperation & below par signings I'd take a guess at.

Dont forget players like Shittu, Cook, Rowlands, Agemang, Borrowdale, Vaagan Moen and Buzsaky staying instead of going out on loan or sold, to keep the numbers healthy and training worthwhile.

I agree with everything on this thread. But it was only yesterday that loads of people were coming on and saying that there was no crisis, no need to panic, that everything was fine and that we were only "in limbo".

Well, if the club don't wake up from it's coma pretty soon, we may as well pull the plug on this season. Such a shame, really.
