I would think 'Sold out' does not mean every seat is taken up. It just means the quota allowed for season tickets in that area is sold out.

Seem to remember reading that the lower Loft (Family Stand) was renewals only.

Maybe that's the case then, seems unfair on a full paying season ticket holder with an under 8 can't sit in the 'family stand'

I'm sure they will want to limit the availability of the cheaper family/child seats.
