I'm not saying that this is what has happened but what if this was the scenario..

Six weeks ago CMS was one of the names on NW's list and a fee was agreed (£3m). Then our owners got wing of the fact that DJ would be available to a PL club at half that price. Now I'm not defending Pete here and this would mean nothing if DJ doesnt sign for us, but it would explain that Fry would peed off with our owners if he felt they had renaged on a deal and Posh had to settle for less money.
I'd be happier with a proven PL striker for half the price of someone who has only proved his worth in League 1.

Maybe the owners went to NW and said... Look we know you'd like CMS, but would you rather have DJ.. = NW happy coz he has a better player and the owners happy coz they have saved some money, part of which could go towards DJ's higher wages..

Totally irrelevent though if we dont get DJ...Things change!!

Doubt it was no more than an enquiry.

If you believe Barry Fry was flat out lying, what would be the purpose do you suppose? What would he have to gain from slagging off the Rangers board?
