Last week Fry was saying about CMS not given assurances by Warnock that he would be here at start of the season.

Which even led to "warnock resigns" posts

            Now its something else today.

            Doesn't really matter I guess.

Says everything that we've been saying for the last month.

We are the laughing stock of football yet again......

Orange man and grey midget must surely recoignise our only successful season came when they had the least involvement. Pretty obvious slap in the face for them, don't you think?

It's obvious we went up despite our woners, not because of.....

I think we have to look at the whole picture here... Even if it makes yet more grim reading.

A couple of weeks ago Barry Fry specifically stated that the reason Mackail-Smith had turned QPR down was because Neil Warnock couldn't guarantee him that he would still be in charge at the start of the season. Now it's apparently because he wasn't given the backing from the board?

It does appear that he has changed his story considerably... I also know from reading the comments from Barry Fry throughout the course of this Mackail-Smith saga that they were desperate to offload him ASAP. They needed the funds to invest in other areas of the squad, if a deal was agreed in principle a "few weeks ago" then naturally I would assume he was expecting to receive this cash injection much sooner than he has? That could well have resulted in Peterborough missing out on targets or at least stuttering their transfer deals over the summer.

So perhaps there is a degree of resentment towards QPR over the way this has been handled? But very rarely have I ever seen an owner or chairman of a football club literally rip into another clubs boardroom so ferociously as Barry Fry has done this evening. He does seem to be one of the more straight talking of people in football and I don't think he would come out with such a firey onslaught as that just for the sake of it.

The free transfer he mentioned (Jimmy Bullard?) would seem to make sense. We know the board wouldn't stump up the cash of Danny Graham - although even if they had I still think he would have gone to Swansea to be reunited with Brendan Rogers.

But that is completely besides the point. It seems that Briatore wants to dip his hands into which players are brought into the club again & with a battle between him and Warnock there will only ever be one winner.

The sooner we get a "Warnock signing" in, the sooner I will withdraw some of my fears. But all the noises seem to indicate that the board/Flavio still haven't learned from their lessons and will continue to run our club the way they want... roll up, roll up.

Neil Warnock miraculously restored some much needed pride last season, but since the re-emergence of Briatore the club has been dragged back down the gutter and once again we are a laughing stock.
The one small crumb of comfort I do take over this is the other clubs that also missed out on him.

Norwich: Fantastically run club, stable management, Premiership football & good chance of first team football.

Leicester: Big name manager, money to burn, obscene wages, great chance of going up.

West Ham: Big club, offering very high wages, also big favorites for promotion.

is it possible that the board didnt want to back warnock to the tune of 3.5 for cms? like we all said he wasnt worth that much so why would board be an differnet, the way iread it sounds like cms bottled it hes gone for the safe option, every other team on that list will have loftier ambitions then brighton , could be as simple as knows his limitations?

Peterborough United’s director of football Barry Fry has hit out at QPR owners Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone for failing to back manager Neil Warnock in the transfer market.
The two clubs appeared to have agreed a deal for Scotland striker Craig Mackail-Smith but that fell through.
And Fry has slammed their treatment of Neil Warnock and the club’s fans.
He told talkSPORT: “[Craig Mackail-Smith] first of all met Neil Warnock with his agent, I mean I did a deal with Neil six weeks ago to be quite honest but [Flavio] Briatore and [Bernie] Ecclestone wouldn’t back Neil, he can’t even get a free transfer in, he can’t even get a tea lady in.
“They’re a disgrace those geezers at QPR in my opinion. If his owners don’t back him Neil can’t do anything. He’s performed miracles to get QPR into the Premier League. He should have all the backing in the world and he’s had none at all, he hasn’t signed anybody, he’s not been able to sign anybody.
“I don’t know what’s going on there, the QPR fans don’t deserve that. The price hike they’ve put on [tickets] is an absolute disgrace.”

First stage in the PR battle which will soon become Warnock vs QPR owners.

I'd imagine Fry has spoken out with the backing of Warnock as if Neil speaks out he'd be sacked and lose any pay-off...
