We are a total and utter joke.
This bloke has won us promotion in one season. Should have a statue put up instead we have to issue statements like this......
What can we do to get rid of these owners??? It is a complete shambles of a club.

What did Sir Humphrey said in Yes Minister? Something along the lines of....
"Never believe anything unless you've seen the official denial".
There's an argument that this then becomes a self fulfilling prophecy or the club felt that the allegations and rumour had enough substance or momentum that they took the pretty unique step of issuing an official denial to kill it in the bud.
