One of the Brighton owners, a self made millionaire ( made it playing poker) paid for the stadium out of his own pocket (winnings) must be some poker player.
Would love someone like that here....dont think they have gone mad on player purchases either more like a very well run club.....nothing in common with us there then. They seek him here.................

The guy you are referring to is Tony Bloom. Basically paid for the ground to be built and get this, put it into a trust for the club so that they never run the risk of what happened to them before happening again. Even he cannot sell it now. I suppose that's what you get when a fan owns the club.
Just to compare him to BE & FB for example, what about this. Last season when they were away to Huddersfield, my stepson who goes to the majority of away games was with his mates at the train station on the way home after the game. Who should be walking towards them on the platform, but the man himself. As I suppose you would if you were a group of young lads, they boldly asked him if he would like one of their cans of beer. Not only did he accept, but sat with them chatting all the way back to London, talking football and about the club. At the end of it, even blamed them for getting him ****ed, having drunk several of their cans. Not that I would want Flavio taking up 3 seats or Bernie on my lap.
The only other thing that he has in common with BE apart from silly amounts of money, is his height.

Ist seaason back in the big time will end in disaster long before the season is out if T&C don't sort things out soon, either sell up or release funds for squad investment.
And yes, Brighton were skint a few seasons ago, but have new wealthy and committed owners who have a plan to get back into the top flight...and stay there (something that T&C should have been thinking of and implementing in 2008 or 2009).

I have a soft spot for B&HA FC having spent time in a boarding school in Brighton and wrote to the club to ask them to come and show our school team how to play football.
We were dumbfounded when half the 1st team and some youths turned up and had a great time with them. So I am so pleased that things are turning out great for the club.

oj mate! on a serious note, thats what a football club should be all about, helping the fans out and making the kids feel welcome and part of the club. When your job entails 2-4 hours training per day the least they can do is put a couple hours in to go and have a kickabout with some kids!
Somehow, i cant imagine a letter from a local school resulting in Taraabt taking his boots down for a kick up competition! You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

think you answered your own question there!

Maybe back in the big time, but can you take positives from being beaten nearly every week. Blackpool had Adam to pull the strings and a goalscorer who gave them a few surprise results in the 1st half of the season.
They way QPR are going, they will have no Taarabt and no goalscorer, a Board that has not got a clue about football and will probably sack Warnock or force him to resign.
QPR will probably get beat by at least 2 or 3 goals in many games and be down and out before April begins.
And for all this, QPR fans are being asked to pay an increase of around 65% in real terms for ST prices and near 100% increases on matchday prices - if Bronze tickets go up from £20 to the rumoured £47 it will be even higher.
Oh yes, let's be positive, at least we are not the Sheffield clubs. But as another poster said, give it a few seasons and who knows, we could be back in League 1.
