I have no problem on who we play. I have said before its QPR I go to see, and don't take much pleasure in seeing us get mullared at ManU or Arsenal, and would rather be beating the Wycombe and Chesterfields of this world.

Problem is we cannot dispute the majority of the fanbase want us to play the best. Trouble I have is that the Prem is no longer a level playing field.

I disagree the fan base would be happier in league 1, we've been there and done that and clearly we were NOT happier

    • A small core maybe happy in League One but I want my boy to grow up watching us at the highest level just as I did. Unfortunately football has changed and I won't be able to afford to go to all games but then again my Dad was in the same position back in the 70's.
If we stayed in League 1 our support level would eventually drop to 8 - 10,000 and we would be consigned to that level.
To wish for that goes against everything Jim Gregory strived for, as he spent his reign trying to get us away from that level of football and into the top flight of football.

      • I think what people are saying is that, during the years in league 1, we were more galvanised as a fanbase and felt like we were part of the club, all pulling together to get us the eventual promotion in 2004.
But that was nothing to do with the division we were in, more to do with the fact that we had a manager who deliberately set out to make the players interact with, and appreciate, the fans -- he commented on this several times while he was here. We also had a board which included a fan, ie: Bill Power, who was very in touch with the fans.
NW is of a similar mould to Ollie, and we have had a decent relationship with MOST of the players over the past year -- which makes it even more of a shame the there is such a big difference between that relationship, and the non-existent one between the fans and the board.

So, not hankering for lower league football as such, but it did represent a time when we felt more appreciated and acknowledged by the club.

yeah agree with you mate!! I don't understand why people would rather be back in League one! I for one would rather watch us now (at the prices) in the best league in the world rather than paying £20 watching us lose 5-1 to southampton at home!!! MENTLE PEOPLE!!!

The players we can attract it will always be any three from

              Qpr
              Swansea
              Norwich
              Wigan
              Wolves

You can throw in WBA if you want but Hodgson will see them safe I reckon.

With those three added to what we've already got, I think we might stay up.

Agree; the only thing missing from there is the cost of it all - £50 for me, £20 for my boy, £40 travel up to London - £110 without any food or anything else; not just VERY tough to justify to my wife, but that all assumes I can actually get tickets.

Unfortunately we have a small stadium, the advantage for the owners is they know they can fill it.

The only thing I find difficult to comprehend is saying we would be happier in League 1, we wouldn't. We fans insulting Ollie for example and it was **** going to places like Chesterfield.

We can rightly blame the owners for taking away the "family aspect", but the truth is SKY took that away years ago when doing a great job to hype up the Premier League around the world

We are going to struggle to fill our stadium next season I have no doubt about that, I loved our time in league 1 as did huge masses of our fans, going to chesterfield in the rain, The oldham game, there was a huge togetherness and we felt the club cared and was on the rise.

They have not seen how passionate we can be yet, we have overthrown 3 mergers! We won't put up with this crap

If they think they are going to fill LR then they are in for an almighty shock, it shows how far removed from the business of the club they are. There are maybe 6 attractive games in the PL, the concept of having tourists turn up and pay £50 - £60 each to watch Wigan or Bolton is laughable especially when they can go down the road for less money and a better match day experience.

The idea that the more casual fan will be won back at these prices whilst every game can be watched on TV or the internet is also laughable. If "boutique" was presented asa business plan to other investors it would be laughed at for its lack of evidence base for any of there plans.

                        • It will be close to sell out, don't think every qpr fan reads messageboards. On fact I'd say a much higher percentage don't read msg boards and half the people who complain on here seem to not hold a ST anyway!
