Furlong wasn't fit for years Oli managed to get him fit, HH more recently, the medical team managed to keep Derry and Hill fit but I must confess failed with Hall, a bridge to far

I amagine weare was thinking of germany in 2006, when he was england's standout player.

No the FACT as you say is that we'd never have had a chance of signing him had he always been fit. He's a quality player when fit. I can't see what we lose with a play as you play contract. Yes he would become 1 of the 25 but how many of the 25 do you use? He's 32 so still got a few years in him. The recent injury is the shoulder I think so unrelated to his previous problems.

His comeback game last season lasted about 15 minutes then his hamstring went and he was out for the season.

Great player but another Woodgate,King,Dyer etc..
