According to a nice guy I met today and who is an ardent QPR fan and his family are season ticket holders,he reckons Beckford is awesome. This lad has played against him several times when Beckford played for Harrow and Wealdstone where he was getting 40 goals a season, and he reckons, given his 34 goals in as many games for Leeds,he could comfortably knock in 20 -25 a season in the Championship, perhaps even more with the midfield and wing support he would enjoy at the R's.

You cant guarantee goals, thats one mistake a lot of people are making, keep saying 20 goals a season or 20-25 goals in the championship comfortable, its not that easy. That's why so many teams are looking for that elusive 20 goal a season striker.

I think it is the fact we are crying out for a striker, that you fans want a so called big name in Beckford. I personally think he is overrated. Yes he scored 34 goals but this is in League 1. I would fancy Blackstock to score 30 in that division and I don't rate him either. The fact that Cox could score over 30 goals in a team that was struggling makes me think we should be moving towards him and he seems like a more clinical finisher. Also lets not forget that under pressure ie the playoff semi final, Beckford had a nightmare. Missed 5 good chances and then duffed a penalty. In my eyes it would be a massive gamble to sign Beckford at a very high price!I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
