The simple fact is, no one knows our actual budget, nor exatcly who Neil wants. No one knows enough to place as facts. Jeffro may have passed on some information, and rightly so. I'd have done the same, but it does not mean that this information is correct, no matter how much some would love it to be true, just to have reason to moan more.

I am still waiting to see what happens with regards to takeovers, transfers and anything else which relates to the club until it is official.

Hasn't anyone learned from recents facts and nailed on/100% done deals etc? If I'm being honest, I sincerely doubt that with the money you get from staying in the Prem and all the other add ons, that the owners, whoever they may be would be happy to risk our Prem status by being tight.

If it's the Mittal's, they'll surely back Neil. If it's T&C, I think they'll do the same. Reason for the latter is because if rumours are to be true and they actually want a big name Italian manager to come in, then they need to show their ambition now. If they fail to do this, why would any manager worth his salt want to come to a club where he sees the owners as tight, dictating w@nkers?

Ok, this is very much on the fence right now, but logically it wouldn't make sense financially, both long and short-term. I'm not for a minute thinking they'll spend a fortune, but £10-15m is enough to ensure this if we buy wisely.

    Breathe!!!

nicely worded benjiman......whilst one must speculate to accumulate in most circumstances ours should be done prudently and on a sound long term financial basis..........a fool and his money are easily parted!!!

Facto would u rather see mackie running around like a headless chicken than WR who is 1 of 4 that I am confident will step up to premier league level. Clearly 1 of our better players.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

As others have said its gotta be the wage demands otherwise loads of clubs would have bid for him. We are gonna have to trust Warno.

Not going to lose any sleep over it. Decent player, very quick but people are acting like he's not that good. If he wants wages outside of our wage cap, don't sign him. No point breaking our wage budget for him.

What makes you think WR will step up to the PL, when he has not been able to take that step on numerous occasions in the past ?

Very good point, also if the wish to sell the club at some point they will get more money selling a premiership club than a championship one, so not backing NW is self defeating!

Routledge has never done well in the prem, mackie deserves a shot. h
He was great for us last season before he broke his leg.

If Mackie deserves a shot in the premier league then we will be bottom by some margin by xmas. Surely people can see mackie is a workhorse but not a premiership player. WR actually improved us and mackie was no loss he just had an agyemang start to the season.

We need hard working players like Mackie in the premiership. We know that if we lose the ball, its going to be hard to get it back. We need Mackie to chase lost causes and constantly put men under pressure. I'll welcome him back into the side and he deserves a chance.

WR has got pace, but thats it. His control and distribution is actually quite poor, and he loses possession a lot. He may be championship level but not prem class.
The best description I've seen for him, as pinched off the Newcastle forums is 'headless chicken' Sums him up really.

It could be that simple, Neil just doesn't want him, not good vfm.

What was your opinion about DJ Campbell and Charlie Adams this time last season, as they were both seen as average, honest workhorses, but not a premiership players, but they both will be next season.

Don't agree Benny. Not only have I heard enough as I'm sure others have to be sure budgets are very small I also think you underestimate the collosal confidence/ arrogance/ indifference of Bernie and Flavio. They really do think they are kind of geniuses who simply by turning up and "re-branding" the club will make it a success. I genuinely think they think they can stay up on a shoe-string and when they almost certainly learn - possibly long before Christmas - that you cannot do that, they will blame Warno. They also don't seem to spend a huge amount of time even thinking about Rangers - probably about as much time as you might spend thinking about your local summer fete.

It won't be a particularly brilliant manager but there are always plenty of "big name" managers who are out of work, in Italy as in here - look at McLaren till he finally shuffled back at Notts Forest.

I admire your positivity but sadly in this case I think it is more like blind optimism. Warno might pull off a miracle but be under no illusions it will need to be a miracle.

How can u go by a newcastle forum, he was in and out of the side. Never got a run of games. Neil Warnock got the very best out of him and his goals and quality was a huge part of our success. I actually think he delivers a lovely cross and has a much better end product than an arron lennon. Did you miss the 2nd half of the season????

Did he play better for NW last season or for CH the season before at Newcastle ?
