  • OSC EGM - Further email received

I emailed the OSC trying to get things moved on a bit and got a response. See the exchange of emails below. It is from 'Karen' but I am not sure what position she holds within the OSC.The original response was from Linda Favell the OSC Secretary. The important thing is that the meeting WILL happen, but I don't understand what is so complicated about booking a room somewhere and publishing it on the website? Anyway, here is the promised latest email exchange:

Subject: RE: Request for an Extraordinary General Meeting - Letter from 31 members of the OSC

    Linda,

Thank you for your email, I await your further comments with a suitable EGM date. I appreciate that there are certain logistics to be considered in arranging the meeting, but am sure you will agree that it is imperative that the meeting be held soon as one of the main issues at the meeting is bound to be ticket pricing. For this reason, I think it would be reasonable for a date to be announced and appropriately publicised to all members of the OSC in advance if the season ticket renewal deadline, which I believe is the 27th June.

I also think it would be a good PR move for these ongoin developments to be publicised on the www.qpr.co.uk so that the members feel that they are not being totally ignored and know that an EGM is being arranged. We all have the best interests of the club at heart here and it is nobody's interests for the fans to be angry with the club.

Many apologies for not getting back to you before but we are currently waiting for the Club to come back to us with an appropriate date. We will publish the details of the meeting on the OSC page on the official QPR site.
    Thank you
    Karen

But why should the OSC be waiting for the club to organise the meeting?

Surely they should be showing some indepence and sort out a venue etc themselves and why the secrecy still over who actually sits on the OSC Committee?

Because we want a rep from the club there to actually talk to us. Also, the OSC would be solely funded by the club, so need the club to provide a venue etc... I think the most urgent matter is to get the club to talk to the fans, and that we should demand reform of the OSC as a side issue, as it is less urgent than the ticket price fiasco etc...

allow entry to blue/white bar in loftus rd stand, should be large enough and cheap....just some security/stewards needed....no need for bar to open as many not there to get drunk. allow refreshments to be taken in.

I think they are doing work to it though? Maybe the blue and white in the lower loft? It's clear they are stalling it as much as they can, but they can't resonably drag it on forever.

And who elects the committee? Surely should be voted in by the membership! Can never recall being asked to vote on this issue - anyone else?

Well said Artful I don't ever remember being asked to vote for any individuals.obviously people put there by the club to toe the line and cause no problems or question the board.

Update - I emailed the club requesting (as a member) a copy of the minutes of the meeting held between the club & the OSC on 3rd June, as I wanted to ascertain exactly what veiws were put across by the OSC, & what the clubs response was. I have just received an email from the club informing that the minutes will be available to veiw on the clubs website on Monday morning

Nice one. Still no date set for EGM. I wonder why they are stalling?

No idea why theyre stalling, although imo the longer they leave it, I think they may be hoping it might go away as all the excitement will be around the start of the season, also IF a lot of die hards don't renew they may not be members blah, blah, blah.

I only take the following from the minutes being available before an EGM

                    * We will find out WHO the OSG committee members are (as they have to be listed either by attendance or apology)

                    * Who was present from the club

                    * Exactly what questions were asked, and how they were answered (if they were not answered at the time what time frame was agreed for responses & what media would be used to present the answers)

                    * As a member were my veiws fairly represented at the meeting - as no one from the OSC canvassed my thoughts prior to the meeting

Someone told me JimJams we're Pajamas.

I had to correct them and tell them, there actually not and they are infact.. just 2 of the most annoying posters on any forum, worldwide.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Is the OSC some kind of Libyan 'democracy'???

The only body where no one is elected in a democratic way.

It is people that the club want who will tow the party line.

The OSC do not represent me as I was never given a chance to vote for them in the first place! And I'm a season ticket holder!

                            ALLEGEDLY.

Now what a surprise...........Ian Stenning was the Supporter of the Year at the player of the year do..........you couldn't make it up!

An absolute farce and a joke.

Unfortunately those kind of comments show why we cannot have united fan groups.

OSC do a good job, just like the LSA.

I also find it insulting that qpr-reports site are asking so many questions. They seem to want to know everything that goes on at the club and probably know about 20%. You cannot tell me that the main istigator of all this stirring who never goes to QPR matches should be trying to now start another war within the fan base. It doesn't matter to me if you go to games or not, but it does when you try starting to poke your nose into stuff, that has no bearing your support of the club.

Season tickets and members should be asking the questions as by definition they are members of the OSC. They are not an association for keyboard warriors
