  • Bothroyd yet to agree QPR deal

The future of England striker Jay Bothroyd is yet to be decided despite reports he is set to sign for Queens Park Rangers, according to his agent.

Bothroyd is out of contract at the end of June and would be available on a free transfer for Neil Warnock's QPR, who won the Championship last season to gain promotion to the Premier League, but the Hoops face competition from Everton, Newcastle and Sunderland.

Cardiff City striker Bothroyd scored 18 league goals last term but opted not renew his contract with the Bluebirds after they failed to win promotion to the top flight.

The 28-year-old made his England debut in a friendly against France last season and is eager to secure a move to the Premier League after taking a short summer break.

"Jay has just come back from holiday. It's an exciting time for him because he has spent three years turning his life around," agent Sky Andrew has told talkSPORT.

"He's in a good position, he's a Bosman [free transfer]. There's been quite a lot of interest and now he is back I'm actually just going to sit down with him and try and decide what is the best route to go down."

Hopefully he signs for us. Good striker and I am sure he will score goals for us.

I'd be happy for him to sign as he knows where the goal is

          Good for a free.

Saw in another article he's spoken to 15 clubs so I'd say our chances of landing him are slim at best.

He knows he will be in ths starting 11 If he joins us. At Sunderland there are Gyan/Campbell, at Newcastle there are Ba/Ameobi/Lovenkrands and at Everton there are Beckford/Arteta/Saha.

Yea good point Yousef but on the other hand if he was to be our main striker in the Prem I'd be pretty disappointed.

I see him as a good aquisition on a freemans not as our number 1 target man.

I agree, but as someone said, he might wanna sit on evertons bench for 10k extra a week rather than play 38 games for us.

                    Probably some roasting party.

Newcastle's front line looks weak to me so he might start with them. That said if Ashley were not even more careful with his money than our owners I'd expect them to go for someone a bit better.

Only reason IMO that we might get him is our location. As for saying can't wait for Friday " boom " he's probs got an invite to a footballers mass orgy in Manchester.
