Mention of DJ Campbell. Stoke pursuing him after losing out on another player; Mail says Villa now favourites for him.

Have you noted even the rags aren't mentioning us any more,a few weeks ago we were linked to everyone, now nobody.Seems they also finally realise our tight owners won't be spending.

DJ not coming to us. ATAF.

The red tops will print anything to get certain fans salivating about strikers.

I think that it depends solely on the player's motivation. Re-location issues, wages, bonuses, contract length, who is ahead of him in the squad etc etc.

This is why I think that we will get Jay Bothroyd. All of the above could work in our favour for the lad and we could match Wolves, Sunderland NUFC on wages & "avoiding relegation" bonuses.

Meanwhile the one reporter who actually has some internal press links/contacts at the club is on twitter stating that he believes Bernie and flavio will ultimately destoy the club (as we know it) but that they are willing to spend money doing it.

view is same as before their takeover went through: that they'll destroy QPR. But idea they're unwilling to spend is ridiculous.

Its silly season. No-one really knows anything yet do they? Its all Work in progress anyway.

McIntrye does have an inside track. However, his anti Flav and Bernie views seem to be based more on nostalgia for Rangers pre the takeover, a nostalgia I'm afraid I can't share whatever the blunders of these two. Marcus Bean can never represent the good old days to me.

Because he is stuck in that Ian Holloway mindset I think he also regards spending 600/800k on a player as a lot of money, which it probably is in the Championship but if he thinks the current board are going to spend a lot IN PREMIERSHIP TERMS then I would like to know what he bases that on.

Rebel: funnily enough I'd noticed that about us not being mentioned in the sports pages. Only positive (perhaps clutching at straws?) is that now we are actually getting down to doing it behind the scenes rather than talking about it - though must admit it doesn't instil confidence when half the players we are supposedly in advanced discussions with turn out just to have come back from holiday and not even close to sitting down with clubs yet!
