Qpr1976 hopefully lessons have been learned as of regards to vine, hall and Aggy.
As for Bothroyd if he wants more than 20k a week then good luck to the prem team that pays that!!
Steve fletcher at wolves is earning 16k a week at wolves and twice the player Bothroyd us.
I'm sorry but we are not in the position to pay big wages with our owners at the moment

people saying sell really need to wise up, if we get £10m (which of course you would not get up front) it would leave us with £6m and £6m does not buy you one match winner.

Everything he has said is correct, I suspect its agent quotes, the way we are going at the moment we could do worse than Derby.

I wonder who is doing the contract negotiation for the club?

Lots of people saying pay him what he wants, I wonder if these people saw the Alan Sugar program about how clubs need to run on a sound business footing and not to chase rainbows ?

Leeds game always was going to be his last. As soon as he was away from Warnock for the summer and had all his sharks (aka agents and advisors) who are on 10% of his wages and signing on fees in his ear all day everyday telling him how hes the best thing since sliced bread and that he should be on more money etc etc etc it was always going to be a matter of "when" rather than "if" he left.

Although i do think he is POTENTIALLY an unbelievable talent, the fact he has been molly coddled so much at Rangers, ie Warnock telling the players not to moan at him and giving him a free reign to do as he pleases, wont hold him in good stead when he moves on. No other team or manager will settle for his tantrums and "quitters attitude" when a nutmeg doesn't come off.

So lets cash him in (hopefully in the region of £12mill) and trust in Warnock to re-invest the 60% of that we get wisely!
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I cannot believe these quotes about us being back in the Championship. I simply cannot believe it. Such a priick sometimes
            Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
            And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

'No disrespect, but if we keep the same players, it will be very difficult to stay in the Premier League when you are playing Man United and Chelsea.'

then that has got to be one of the most disrespectful things I have ever heard, even from a footballer.
We can argue if that comment is disrespectful or not, but its a lot harder to argue against its veracity, eh Brighton?

reckon we'd get about 7m for him with a few add ons could rise up to 12m. i personally wouldnt want to sell him - not because i am convinced he will do it in the prem BUT because i dont believe a penny of his transfer fee would go towards new targets.

he is desperately trying to leave us though, will make me laugh if no one comes in for him and all the qpr fans are giving him standing ovations because hes about to take a corner as far as im concerned, IF he stays - this is one bridge too far.

Great Championship player, couldnt cut the mustard in the Prem.

He's a selfish liability, sell him and move on !

Spot on some on here have so little knowledge of football it is frightening. World class !! Pay him 45k !! will destroy the prem!!!

If he stays you will all be calling him after he is sent off against Chelsea as Terry winds him up and he someone on our team doesn't pass to him.

Sell him now he has no respect for the club or the fans, something you all moan at the current owners for and will be almost worthless by January as even the naive clubs see his tantrums first hand. To be honest we will be lucky to sell him as very very few are interested anyway. FACT

This is just journalistic rehash and distortion of things said by him and Warnock -- don't take any notice of what is a load of tripe...he's very young and naive and says things without realising how they could be twisted and his English isn't good enough to have said that anyway!!)
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

                        MoonSafari, fair points, but -
I'm not sure we could afford to pay what we did in the Championship either.
We got away with it, in order to secure the Premiership gravy train.
Fine if we use that cash cow to advance.
NOT fine, if it's all going in Tango & Cash's back pockets.

PaulMason, I can't take the media who-er Sugar too seriously regards advise.
Yes he did well, starting from nothing, blah ,blah, but he can't be used as a comparison with QPR in Business terms. Besides, I'vem ore time for Richard Branson when it comes to being an entrepreneur (?).

RickyRanger, I don't recall seeing 45k mentioned, certainly not by me - I was speculating hyperthetically 25-30k max.
For someone with some much football knowledge (based on fact I presume), I'm surprised you can compare WR's 99 Premiership appearances and 1 goal, and being offloaded numerous times due to being average at that level with Adel who has only played a handful of times, manily from the subs bench !?! Highly speculative IMO and reeks of personal dislike (of which you have every right to). Certainly not FACT. But what do I know ?
You are right about not many wanting him though, an Italian club maybe and Newcastle, possibly Liverpool - Can you see him getting better treatment than NW afforded him last season ? Pardew ? Are you sure ?

If we get good (more than £10m) for him and he goes - FINE, as long as NW gets what's left after Spurs cut.
If not, I'll support and enjoy him continuing his development under NW at the highest level.

And when he does throw a tantrum (as he no doubt will - mediterranean, cocky, young, arrogant, talented) I will laugh and not take it personally.
What will you do if (IF) he does another Swansea, Cardiff, Preston, Coventry, Scunthorpe (I could go on 42 times for every goal, assist, etc but I won't)

                        Good debate though........enjoying it.

this could be the interview if tre to spur our board to get a move on, it cold be seen as the pivotal moment of our summer, thye now know yes they may get 10 fo rhim of which we would get 6 , as someone pointed out 6 mill will not get us a matchwinner, they wold aso want bigger then 20k wages, so best paying him more and bring some bods in, like i said could be the turning point of our summer

he needs us more than we need him imo.

in today's market we should hold out for 12m.

that lad from sunderland.. 20mil?? crazy money for somebody who has done exactly what? taarabt was a large part of the reason why our club are back in PL.

The 45K was mentioned by another poster on this board but was at the extreme end.

I have to be honest and say whilst I do not have a personal dislike for Tarrabt I do despair at any player that has talent such as his but does not have the mental strength, discipline or commitment to match that talent. I also dislike the lack of respect he shows to his fellow players, coaches and managers, let alone supporters who pay his wages.

My basis that he will not make it in the Prem is the opinion of several well respected coaches, his previous club Tottenham and his lack of any sort of major impact at International level. Please tell what basis you have to support your theory that he will?

My fact comment was with regard to not many other clubs being interested, which I can assure you is correct. In fact this latest outburst is probably an attempt to drum up that interest by him or his agent.

You are right on one thing, good debate
