Balance his comments with "I'd rather be playing regularly for QPR, than sitting on the bench or not figuring for Chelsea", ManUre, Liverpool, etc.

He does get some awful quotes attached to him, BUT bear in mind -English is his 2nd language, all media/journos like to twist what players say to make a story, his Agent (more than most) likes to polute Adel's mind with fantasy clubs like Real Madrid, Barca, Lazio, etc. and he's young.

The Club SHOULD be offering our most valuable asset an improved contract.

    FACTS -
Current Championship player of the year.
Our highest goalscorer, most assists (and in the whole division)
    He puts bums on seats.
Currently 2 years left on current deal, which means his transfer value will start to drop as we move towards January.

We should offer him a years extension with higher wages (25/30k whilst in the Premiership) with the proviso that if we go down, he automatically reverts back to Championship wages (as would ALL players !)

At least we'd be safeguarding our investment.

If he actually made that comment then he is saying no one else in the team is good enough for the prem, does he think he is then? Only time will tell but I think he is afraid that if he doesn't have good players around him he will not shine and therefore will just drift off to some little club rather than the dream he so desires.

It's also a bit harsh to compare Adel in the Prem with Routledge.

Routledge has had 99 Prem games to impress.
Adel a handful, most probably as a Sub.

If we've told him he can go for £10m, why did we (reportedly) turn down £10.6m from Lazio (?)

Bottom line is I'd love to see him in hoops in the Prem, if only until January but if we get an offer in excess of £12m (and Newcastle won't match that) he goes for the better good of the Club as long as NW get to spend everything left after Spurs cut. Would equate to 3 very good additions to our squad. Even Adel can't do the work of 3.

Strange comment.........when the facts showed after 46 games playing against all types of strikers they had the best record out of the 92 professional teams. That is some record. They can't become that bad overnight. They just do their job. They are solid which is what we will need next season.

That's also the comment that has been repeated on here ever since the season ended, so what's the problem? It's a comment 99% of people on here deep down would agree with.

Will be a shame to lose him over not improving his contract.
            Morris,

It's one thing for you or me to have a moan on a messageboard about how we regard certain players. It's an entirely different thing for someone to be quite so derogatory about ones team mates, who all played their part getting us to where we are.

Yes, he was quite exceptional at times and had a fantastic season. But there were many times when he was not at his best when the efforts of others kept us going.

I understand that, and he should have kept his feelings/opinions to himself, but the fact is he hasn't and in truth he hasn't said anything that people on here or even our other players would disagree with - we need improvments to stay up.

Maybe he is using the media to put pressure on QPR to agree to his terms, who knows?

Even Parma pulled-off. Are we playing any good side?

For all you people that think we should pay Adel more money your of your nut!!
A club should not be paying anyone over 20k a week in our first season in the prem.
Next year when the likes of Rowlands, cook,Aggy, vine, and halls contracts are up saving us between 4-5m a year were be in a better state.
The facts are the club is losing money every month and are tight owners are unwilling to spend there own money.
Were are not the only club in the prem in this predicament Everton, Bolton and Blackburn all in the same vote .
Been saying to my mates for ages woudnt care if the club never paid a single transfer fee and ploughed any profit into the academy or Laing some debts off.
If the prem money is managed Propely the club will move forward.
Adel you were happy with you contract 10 months ago don't be greedy!!

No he is not, Adel is not bigger than this club, as Charlie Adams wasn't bigger than Blackpool!!

                            1) He nearly single handed got us up

                            2) Every player deserves a healthy pay rise after winning promotion & being top from start to finish of last season regardless of they're current wage.

                            3) He is correct in saying we will be instantly relegated with the current squad.

                            4) Players like Taarabt come around once in a blue moon the club should be going out on a limb to accommodate him regardless of ego etc. He is our star man.

                            5) I don't like the thought of us without him but I wouldn't blame him for leaving, the club is a mess atm frankly. He done wonders for us last year & if the club continue as they are its bad times ahead.

                            SORT IT OUT RANGERS FFS!!
I disagree. Certainly played a crucial role in our promotion but he would not have done so without the support of Derry and Faurlin and others behind him. Kenny was also absolutely superb. The team got us promoted, not Taarabt.

That said, he is correct that we will be relegated with the current squad and probably deserves a pay rise.

                              Sensible comments Moon, BUT

Was it not our tight fisted owners who agreed to pay Vine, Aggy, Fitz, etc. such extortionate wages in the first place ? They made their bed.

Equally, they know who our most important, lucrative player is. So they should be looking to safeguard our investment.

I'm not suggesting extortionate wages. Just a 50% increase on last season.
I'm surprised ALL players are NOT on higher wages automatically in the Premiership (obviously dropping back if relegated). Adel as much as anyone has earnt that.

Finally, if true, and we are trying to bring in the likes of Bothroyd, Bullard, Upson, Keane, J Cole (all widely reported at some point) do you think they would sign for less than 25k a week. I don't.

Speculate to Accumulate. Pay peanuts, get monkeys.
Obviously with financial safeguards should the worst happen.

Out of interest, why is it OK to disrespect the club, fans and team mates ?

All supposition on my part, but I would imagine that when he signed a permanent contract with us, there would have been specific consequences in relation to his terms should we be promoted. Either in the form of a bonus, higher wages or both.

As it happens, I think we will stay up next season regardless of who else joins us. We have a wonderful team spirit from what I could make out.

Although, being fair to him, he has probably had his words twisted about as much as possible. Or at least I hope that is the case.

I agree with moon safari. Would far rather the club be run in a manner that ensures it is still in existence 5 years from now. If players cannot make do with £20k pw, then let someone else be stupid enough to pay it.
