I thought his contract gave him a 25% pay rise for being in the Prem?

Anyway, it's normal that he would be agitating for more money, and the club will have to make a decision whether they want to give a new contract or cash in.

Yep once he is back and behind closed pre season doors it should die down......BUT taarabt is the type of player to not turn up or turn up late to pre season, cant see him fancy the hard hard pre season fitness work, and also doubt he would fancy a trip to bodmin town or whatever they are called

      3) He is correct in saying we will be instantly relegated with the current squad.

      4) Players like Taarabt come around once in a blue moon the club should be going out on a limb to accommodate him regardless of ego etc. He is our star man.

      5) I don't like the thought of us without him but I wouldn't blame him for leaving, the club is a mess atm frankly. He done wonders for us last year & if the club continue as they are its bad times ahead.

      SORT IT OUT RANGERS FFS!!
Couldn't of said it better myself Ric, everything he said is correct. So what he wants a pay rise, and yes with our current squad, with no striker who will score goals in the prem we would challenge derby for being the worst team ever in the prem.

Taarabt sparks £10m chase after midfielder reveals he's ready to call time on QPR

Adel Taarabt says Premier League new boys Queens Park Rangers would sell him this summer for £10million.

Contract talks between the inspirational midfielder and the club have broken down and the 22-year-old now wants to leave. Worse still, he is tipping Championship winners Rangers for instant relegation.

Ace Adel: Taarabt was voted the best player in the Championship last season

All of which will be music to the ears of Newcastle, who had a £5m bid for the midfielder rejected in January, as manager Alan Pardew continues to rebuild his team after adding Demba Ba and Sylvain Marveaux to his squad.

Taarabt, voted the best player in the Championship last season, said last night: 'I helped QPR win promotion but they will not offer me a better contract. They say I am already on big wages.

'They want me to stay four years on the same terms. But I don't want to sign for four years then after one year I am going to be back in The Championship.

'No disrespect, but if we keep the same players, it will be very difficult to stay in the Premier League when you are playing Man United and Chelsea.'

Taarabt's contract runs until 2013 but it is believed there is a break clause that could be activated by the Moroccan next summer.

Champions: but Taarabt as tipped QPR to go straight back down

Rangers have had offers of £5m but have told him they will only let him go for £10m. 'It's a lot of money because I have not been successful yet in the Premier League,' he said.

'But when Rangers sell me they have to give 40 per cent of the fee to Tottenham, my first club.'

Despite interest from Paris St-Germain and Juventus, Taarabt wants to stay in the Premier League. He said: 'Why should I go to France and play some games in front of 7,000 people? I like it in England. The stadiums are full all the time.

'I understand that QPR have changed my life. People had almost forgotten me when I joined from Tottenham. But I don't think they are being fair to me.'

Pardew, whose rebuilding plans have already seen the departure of physical English players Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan, is a long-time admirer and can be expected to re-enter the race for a player who could end up being idolised at St James' Park in the same way as Paul Gascoigne, a player he is often likened to.

French-born Senegal striker Ba and Rennes wide-man Marveaux arrived last week on free transfers and another French flair player, Hatem Ben Arfa, is due back from long-term injury.

Although he speaks good English, having joined Spurs as a 17-year-old, Taarabt said: 'It is good for me that Newcastle have a few French players.

'People say Newcastle will be good for me, that the fans love players like me. It is fantastic to play in front of 50,000 supporters every week. I do not need one of the very big clubs at this stage.'

There is still uncertainty about the future ownership of QPR, with steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal trying to wrest control from Bernie Ecclestone.

          Ric,

I would, along with all the others agree with you in the main.

But, if these are his actual words and I say if due to it being a newspaper article :

'No disrespect, but if we keep the same players, it will be very difficult to stay in the Premier League when you are playing Man United and Chelsea.'

then that has got to be one of the most disrespectful things I have ever heard, even from a footballer.

Our summer just gets worse. There has been nothing positive from the club all summer.

To be honest who can blame him??

Why would you give him the same money for 4 years if next season we go down which at the moment looks very likely? Him and about 5 others are the only players good enough for the Premiership. Someone like him deserves to be playing with top players. Why does he wanna be stuck with people like Fitz Hall every Saturday?
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

I will bet my house that he won't go to places like Bodmin and Tavistock etc. for a pre season

Warnock treats him different to all the other players.

I think we'll be down by February.

He's gonna think like that, weve signed no one, and it doesn't look like our tight owners are going to invest much in the team neither. We need some sort of protest against Flabio and midget man. There at our club for completely the wrong reasons. Its going to be such a scrap in the PL. At this rate if Taarabt goes and we cant loan or sign Routledge or Walker, we might end up with a team in the PL worse than the team we had when we won the Championship. Very worrying

                        Tw*t club.

                        Té*t captain.

If those quotes are real he should never play for our club again. What he did last season was inspirational but that doesn't make him able to say we are going down. Imagine the teammates reading that.

Which football club in the world has been the biggest joke over the last 10 years?

If Taarabt said all this, and I'll assume he did, he's bang on the money I reckon. Given Spurs 40% sell-on clause we need 12 mill. And I think we'll get it. Plus it needs to all be made available, and more, for transfers/wages for us to have any hope of staying up.

I'm beginning to hate BE & FB, something I thought impossible a couple of years back. For God sakes sell to Mittals orsomeone (not Risdale!)-I don't believe the offer was 'insultingly low': that is club spin I think.

I don't think we can get away with an Adel in the Prem. Let him sit on a bench somewhere else and count his money. He was never an 'R', only a mercenary on his way somewhere else.

Once he's gone and gets up to his tricks at another club we'll laugh.

As I said in an earlier thread first six games we need 10/11 pts otherwise we are ****ed.

The board it would seem have no interest in keeping us in the PL at present IMO.
