OFFICIAL: GRAHAM SIGNS FOR SWANS
Posted on: Tue 07 Jun 2011
STRIKER Danny Graham has joined Swansea City from the Hornets for a fee of £3.5million.
The deal to take the 25-year-old forward from Hertfordshire to south Wales also includes a 15 per cent sell-on clause, payable against any future sale value less this transfer fee.
Graham scored 41 goals in 87 (+11) appearances for the Golden Boys altogether.
Fourteen of those goals came from 40 starts and nine substitute appearances in his first Vicarage Road season, 2009-10.
Then last season, his Watford career took off with 27 goals (24 League) in all competitions, these figures from 47 starts and two appearances from the bench.
He was the npower Championship's top goalscorer, second at the Football League Awards in the division for Player of the Year to QPR's Adel Taarabt, while he also picked up a number of monthly accolades.
Carlisle United will receive 15 per cent of £3.15million from their sell-on clause. The Cumbrians received £350,000 in total for Graham's transfer to Watford (an initial tribunal-set £200,000 plus appearance clauses totalling £150,000), so this amount is deducted from the Swansea fee before the sell-on clause is applied.
Watford's return, after this clause, will be in excess of £3million.

I know it isn't on the Swansea site yet, but I am sure you will agree sometimes clubs are horribly slow updating their sites.A message to the other Premier League clubs when they visit Loftus Road.....

Graham secures Swans move
Striker passes medical at Liberty Stadium
By James Dall - Last Updated: June 17, 2011 12:02pm
Danny Graham has passed his medical at Swansea City to rubber-stamp his move from Watford.
The striker has joined the Swans for a fee of £3.5million as Brendan Rodgers plans for life in the Premier League.
Graham, who scored 27 goals in all competitions for the Hornets last season, confirmed the agreement on his Twitter account.
He said: "It's now official, I am a Swansea City player. Passed medical. Now bring on Manchester City."
West Brom and Queens Park Rangers were believed to have been interested in 25-year-old but ultimately lost out to the Swans.
It is reported that Graham has signed a four-year contract with the newly-promoted club.
Just waiting for the Swansea Offy to catch up, but remembering how long ours had Mahon as a one month emergency loan I won't hold my breathe.....A message to the other Premier League clubs when they visit Loftus Road.....

Warnock has already said he has missed out on some of his 1st choice targets. How many more will he lose out on before T&C give him the go ahead to sign players?

Graham is a decent player but to miss out on him because we won't match someone elses offer (and let's face it Graham may actually have wanted to go to Wales rather than here) has many different meanings than the one implied by you under the ist choice banner.
I wouldn't lay out £3.5M for someone with no EPL experience on a whim personally and suspect the 3M was a sensible ceiling for a risk venture.#standuptocancer
