    Just to try and answer a few questions that were on the previous page about listing.

    Listing applies to the whole curtilage (area) of the site. EG If your house is listed the listing applies to your whole house, garden, garden walls, sheds etc. With a site like the BBC though the extent of the curtilage will be open to interpretation.

    Just because something is listed doesn't mean it can't be demolished or altered - the Twin Towers of old Wembley were listed. It just means that the process is more difficult and you are less likely to get the permissions.
