Celebrity entrepeneur Bernie Ecclestone has done a deal with the BBC to star in a remake of the classic comedy Steptoe and Son.
Bernie, who is 80 and weighs in at 5'2", turned down a previous big money offer to portray his lookalike, dead artist Andy Warhol.
The self made Billionaire told reporters:"I've got enough Warhols in my house in Chelsea".
Instead, he has signed up to wear the worn out boots of another lookalike, Albert Steptoe:
"I always dreamed of owning a scrap yard in Shepherd's Bush" said Bernie.
Humble Billionaire Bernie, who is 'big' in Formula 1 and owns QPR, claims the grumpy rag and bone man is his role model:
"The miserable old git never wasted a penny."
Bernie's long standing business partner, Italian playboy Flavio Briatore, is 'in on the deal' and will play Albert's wantaway son Harold.
Flavio, who is famous for sporting Benetton clobber and shagging Naomi Campbell, has always been a big fan of of Steptoe and Son:
"My favourite scene was when Harold pulled a scrubber in The Skinners Arms and took her back to Oil Drum Lane to got his leg over".
When filming starts, Bernie and Flavio will swap their collection of vintage racing cars, luxury yachts and supermodel wives for a clapped out one eyed nag and a filthy run down slum near Wormwood Scrubs.
Down to earth ex grease monkey Bernie was never impressed with the trappings of wealth and is happy to keep his cash in the gas meter.
His totting partner Flavio is also not afraid to 'bend his back' and has a natural tan from working outdoors with his barrow in all weathers.
In a trailer for the first episode, Bernie Steptoe is seen crawling on the floor looking for his false teeth and grumbling about the "bloody wops in Bahrain". Flavio Steptoe returns to the junk yard after a hard day "flogging my nuts off at QPR" and calls his father a "dirty old man".
In another hilarious scene, Bernie is seen scrubbing his skeleton in a tin bath while Flavio puts on a cravat and fantasises about going to a party in Monaco to "snog classy birds". Albert snarls "What a load of old cobblers" and tells Harold:
"get back out on the horse and cart and earn some money you lazy git."
