  • I intend to enjoy close, pre and next season

This should be the time of rejoicing and enjoyment for QPR fans, just won the Championship and promoted to the big time additional income, better players, better football are all on the agenda for the season 2011/2012. But Instead of enjoying this time if you view all the Internet message boards it appears most fans are unhappy about various items and what seems to me complaining just about anything, this even went as far as a proposed demonstration at the ground last weekend.

We all know following QPR is not easy, as we always seem to go from one problem to another and I would not say that everything is rosy at HQ, as the ticket price increase this year will make it far to expensive to go for some loyal fans who have been going for years watching rubbish, which is wrong. I also think it’s the first steps to move QPR away from the working class roots and family ties where our local fan base has always been. But if you read what most people are asking for and what most people shout, my question is there something hypocritical about what is said, as they want millions spent on the team regardless of the consequences as long as they don’t pay, the club dont incorperate the debt (the owners do) but the thing is you have thought, we would have learnt our own lessons from the past after nearly going out of business in the early years of this century.

The money generated from the premier league is a sickening amount £90m, but if this is not spent wisely we will soon find ourselves back in square one, please note Fav and Bernie are not fans but are business men and once they are bored of QPR they will drop it like a smelly stone. They wont fund the club while they find buyer they will simply put it admin or liquidation. People say they should give QPR the money to buy these players out the goodness of their heart, well why should they. If you had a car to sell for a £2k and your friends car broke down and he could not afford a new one, how many of you would pass him the keys free of charge, I can tell you not 1 in 10. You would all sell the car or sell it to him cheaper regardless if he could afford it, well that’s what they are doing by putting up your season tickets. Running QPR at the moment we lose £###k a month. They have put this on the end of the ticket prices, like you selling your car to your mate, you don’t need the money but most people will still try and sell it to him regardless if he could afford it or not.

Surely we should pay debts and buy back Loftus Road, work out finances from there, plan how and where we want to go to and then move forward. Looking at what some people are moaning of on the forums it appears they don’t want this, they want big money signings, a large transfer kitty and want to pay over the odds on transfers and wages just to get targets regardless. If we dont well "lets maon"

People say that’s why they want Bernie and Fav out, if they don’t like football or follow QPR sell to the Mittals, well that’s an easy one. They own the club, they brought the club and at the moment they fund the club. Therefore you want the club, you pay what they want as to them its business, they will not sell just because it may be better for the club, they will sell to either get their investment back or make a big fat profit. As that is what the primer league has done, made football into big business. If the Mittals took over I wouldn’t expect them to fund the club, I would expect them to put in a structure that over x amount of years and price increases with corporate investment we would break even.

People say look at Stoke and Bolton they cheap season tickets, yes they do but a)its cheaper to live up there and the average wage is less, b) they have far bigger grounds to attract more fans c)they have been in the premier for longer and have the finance struture in place, and they didnt splash out millions in the first season just stuck with there manager. For us to emulate them means being prudent now, sticking with Warnock and not splashing money on over priced players or paying extortionate wages.

I for one will enjoy the pre-season, enjoy the rumours on all web sites and enjoy next season. I just wish the club is prudent and stays within its guidelines and pays back all its debt. If I cant go as i don’t have the money, well it will be free streams on the internet for me.
One for all.... and all for one

Superb write! makes a refreshing change to be hear somebody looking forward to us being back in the big time rather than sounding like a suicidal old man moaning about something or other...
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Very good post, how many will actually take time to read the whole thing and take it in though, because if they do they will see how much sense you have made there.

Bigears, brilliant post. Bring on Premier League. In Warnock we trust! I have waited for 15years and can't understand all this doom and gloom. Can't wait for the season to start.
