im not defending the board and i dont know pete , im on the board of the company i work for , i know how things work, thats why when evberyone goes on about the mittals their talking out their ####, they dont know (at least majority) of how things work, thye are not going to make money out of the day to day running of club ,neither do they need it, they make their money buying and sellling on the asset which is qpr, they need it to be an established club before they can realise their investment which is significant (not just the few mill they bought it for but the £40 mill theve loaned the club) so if someone offers them £50 mill they will say no as there is no return

the big issue for rangers we are a small club always have been always will be, but we have ideas way above our station, being a small club they are going to try and generate as much cash as possible to help break even , connell i have quoted on here many times that my bigggest concearn about the rises was that it will alienate those fans who come to all the games but never needed to buy a st, these are the people i feel sorry for (i dont mean that in a condascending way) these are the fans i dont want to lose as these are the guys who make rangers who they are, i jhust wish hey would show their intent early so as to allow fans to make an informed choice about whether to renew or not. yes i am lucky that i can afford my st but i shouldnt feel guilty about it ,

Eastcotte makes some very good points and I do agree that fans can willfully underestimate how much it costs to run a football club. Many will spit that Bernie and Flavio are somehow "profiting" from the running of our club. Yet there is nothing wrong with making a profit from a private business and either way its a bit hypothetical because as Eastcotte points out the only profit they will ever make out of QPR is if they sell it for substantially more than they've sunk into it.

However, think the key sentence in Eastcotte's last post was the penultimate one where he says he wishes the board would show their intent. That is the point. Even from a purely business standpoint you have to get your PR right - if you are staging a West End play you can't charge premium prices before you announce what stars you have signed to perform. Think a lot of fans will make sacrifices and pay the high prices but first they want to see that the board intends investing - and at the moment even club cheerleaders such as Free Seat Pete seem to be saying that there is no will to spend the money required to establish us as a Premier League club. After all the grand talk and proud boasts its hardly surprising fans are bewildered.

The way things are at the moment with lack of incoming decent players.
Although i have the money, do i want to pay for an st, just to see us get walloped every week through owners lack of investing in premier standard players.

My answer to that would be no, unless i see some decent players signed and we can hit the ground running at the start of the season.

I do not think we can survive with many of our present team.
