  • Will Ramage cut it in the Premiership?

Obviously he has the manoeverability of a telephone kiosk and can't actually kick a clearance up the line without slicing it into the stand and lacks any kind of positional sense, but do you think he could do a job for us next season?

Only at centre back, would never make it in the prem at right back.

We have already seen him Ben. I'll back anyone in a Rangers shirt but that fella is not up to it.
          IMO

Did he not play in the Premiership for Newcastle at both RB and CB? Yeah he did. Give the bloke a bloody chance.
15 years in the wilderness will be a distant memory come Sunday 8th May 2011.

Yeah he did, still think his game is much more suited for central defence, and i think really struggles out wide, he is a proper defender though.

Whenever we saw him at CB, he performed. Best CB we've got IMO.

how on earth do you reach that conclusion - you don't know what team NW will really start with next season?

He gave him an extension, so I'd say that means he has some sort of faith in him.

One thing is for sure Warno is not gonna rock the boat too much. Little additions at a time or a hand full of players he can trust and knows.

and a leader in central defence, something we lacked, but got away with, for large parts of last season

Neil Warnock has judged Peter Ramage as being worthy of a place in next season's squad.
That's more than good enough for me.

                              That's absolute nonsense.

To answer the original question: in all honesty I was very surprised to hear that his contract had been renewed. There's no doubt that he works very hard, but I'm not convinced that he has the skill, strength, ball control and pace to succeed at Premiership level. In my view he's a Championship player, and not a particularly good one at that. However, in Warnock we trust. Perhaps this will be the season in which he impresses.
