  • Players from South America

Now were in the Premier League, why don't we aim for a few players from South America. After all, Argentina and Brazil are constantly producing good players. Man United got Hernandez for about £8 Million which is nothing compared to what he's probably worth now, just in one season. I'm sure plenty of South American players wouldn't mind a pop at the Prem. Its better than spending ridiculous amounts of money on over the hill players that we seem to be aiming for at the moment. I'm all for giving young home grown players a chance as well, but im not happy about signing old players like Bullard, Upson and Bowyer for life in the Prem (thats if we sign them)

...because most of them have third party interests and so far we've proven that we're not very good at dealing with that sort of thing

Listen lets get this done and dusted , we are not going to spend 5/6m on one player alone. Upson is a good player, had a bad year in a very bad west ham side with a terrible manager, now im not saying he's world class but he could do us a good job and is a prem league defender.Bullard if fit is a great addition to,a very good player, and a prem league midfielder when fit.

think what we want to try and do is what the smaller european clubs do , bring not the superstars in but the one s wth promise and give them a platform, remember a lot of the big brazillians all started at smaller clubs where they had a chance to shine

problem is really good argentinians, brazilians and uruguayans go to spain, Italy , Portugal, I'd love to get a guy like Suarez, but even he went to Ajax before Liverpool bought him. Those guys are very, very good. Also the UK tax of 50% is the highest in Europe, a player would rather to to Galatasaray and pay 12 % tax than come to the UK. Spain is 20% I think, Germany even less maybe. Wenger said the high tax rates means more foreigners will look elsewhere first.
